community I was just wondering how are entrance points into a historical place able to be nominated with out a council sign at the entrance Point as we have a concrete staircase leading out of the reserve into a neighboring road with the end of the trail being at a church.
I was just wondering if intersections on a walking trail able to be nominated if they are designed to take you to other destinations for an example if you’re starting at the church for the walking trail behind you leads to McDougalls Reserve with fitness equipment the right side of the fork goes to Nolan Park and the right side of the fork will take you through the 30 year native Aboriginal forestry corridor as our council has been put any trail markers or signage in our reserves/parks
Hello! I did not completely understand the end of your post, did they or did they not put trail markers up?
If there are markers, it should be fairly easy to successfully submit these, assuming you include evidence that the trail is there since it might be a bit hard telling where they are under tree cover.
If there are no markers, it should be possible to try at least the trailhead, again if you include documentation in the form of a trail map. It’s a bit more of a difficult nomination, but I have seen people persevere and succeed with documented markerless trailheads.
I would worry that crossings without markers don’t provide enough of a distinct visual anchor. Fitness equipment should be eligible in its own right, and so should be the other interesting destinations. Usually we don’t nominate “the path that takes you to an interesting place” though. I would focus on the trail instead.
Why don’t you share some pictures of what you have in mind?
My apologies there are few access point with place names. Singleton council hasn’t added any think else throughout the native trail not even types of trees planted and years or numbers of plants planted. And I’m not 100% sure where I can source this information so I believe just leave it at the moment
