Accepted Wayspots not appearing in Pokémon GO after 5 days

2 of my Wayspot nominations were accepted 5 days ago, but none of them have appeared in Pokémon GO yet.

They are showing as accepted in Wayfarer. I have waited well beyond the stated 48-hour synchronization period.

Could someone confirm whether there is currently a delay with Pokémon GO synchronization, or whether these Wayspots are being excluded from Pokémon Go for some different reason?

I can provide the Wayspot names and locations if needed.

Thank you for your answers. I did not know about the concept of S2 cells. So if i understand this correctly that means there is no way these will ever appear in Pokemon go as a pokestop?

If the original Pokestop gets removed (e.g. because the object it represents is removed IRL) then yours could replace it.

Your nomination should appear as powerspot once powerspot sync, if for some reason the wayspot in that cell got removed irl, your wayspot will probably turn from powerspot to pokestop
