Portal picture:

Supporting picture:

“The site is a store or service intended for adults, such as a liquor store,…”

This is most likely why it has been removed

Do they not allow any kids in restaurants in the Netherlands?

Da Nini – Stijlvol, eigentijds Italiaans
So no link with 18+ or something. Regular restaurant

It’s a regular Italian restaurant

Hopefully it’s not just a regular restaurant, I was just thinking how come the appeal went through - by understanding that, you might be able to nominate it again with additional information that it is a local & popular restaurant engaging people to socialize…

Wait, where did the goalposts just go?

It’s art.

Indeed, but the mural/wall painting/art whatever…. Is still obviously tightly connected with the restaurant, and will therefor most likely be judged by most reviewers with that in mind.

The art and the restaurant are potentially separately eligible. Any reviewer who conflates them is doing a poor job.

I agree that the mural is separate from the restaurant in this case. Here in the US, many reviewers don’t like to approve locally owned restaurants, so art at these places are submitted instead, even if both are eligible. Drives me a little crazy sometimes.

If the Wayspot is restored, it should be with the original name, which in English is Da Nini Olive Trees, which described the mural/painting, not the restaurant, @SemTheBeast. Anyone of any age can interact with the paintings outside the restaurant; they don’t have to be inside to interact @yido .

However, the owner/management of the restaurant may have requested removal, so let’s keep that in mind, especially since there is no Wayspot for the restaurant on Lightship currently. Property owners/managers can do this, but we will have to wait to see what Niantic decides about this Wayspot.

… Anyone of any age can interact with the paintings outside the restaurant; they don’t have to be inside to interact…

I totally agree on that, and as I mentioned previously - you need to understand why the appeal was accepted and the wayspot was removed if you want to re-nominate it again, and I mentioned that could have been the reasoning.

And yes the title “Da Nini Olijfbomen” is describing the painting (even if I would rather see it as Lemon trees rather than Olive trees - but who am I to judge)

I still think the painting and the restaurant is tightly connected, and if they were sent in as different wayspots (which both could be eligible for) one of those could be rejected as duplicate - that’s how I see it, since if the restaurant would close and and another business would take over, that painting would be just a memory as well…
If the painting wasn’t part of the business name, then it would be superclear it could be 2 eligible wayspots.

Thanks for the appeal, @SemTheBeast. We gave this a second look and decided to restore the Wayspot in question.
