Additional Information:
Hello,
I am appealing the decision regarding the Elizabethtown Sister City to Koori-Machi, Japan sign.
This is a permanent community sign recognizing Elizabethtown’s sister-city relationship with Koori-Machi, Japan. The sign prominently reads “ELIZABETHTOWN — SISTER CITY TO KOORI-MACHI, JAPAN” and displays the date May 15, 1992.
The sign represents a meaningful connection between the two communities and is a distinctive piece of Elizabethtown’s local civic identity. I have included current photographs to document the sign itself, its permanent installation, and its real-world location.
Photo 1 — Close view of the sign
This photograph clearly shows the sign, its wording, and both steel support posts.
Photo 2 — Wide view and location context
This photograph shows the complete sign and both posts installed in the ground. It also provides useful surrounding context, including the roadway, underpass, and nearby mini-golf area.
Photo 3 — Nearby building reference
This photograph shows the nearby building at 1030 N. Mulberry Street from the area of the sign. This provides an additional fixed landmark that can help verify the sign’s location.
Photo 4 — Across-the-street reference
This photograph shows the Burger King across the roadway from the sign, providing another recognizable fixed landmark that can help verify the sign’s real-world location.
Together, these current photographs show that the sister-city sign is physically present, permanently installed on two steel posts, and located at the coordinates provided above.
Because this is a permanent civic feature commemorating Elizabethtown’s relationship with its sister city in Japan, I respectfully ask that the decision be reconsidered using the additional current photographic evidence provided here.
Thank you for your time and for reviewing the appeal.
