Greeting and welcome to the forum.
Seem like your submission doesn’t state how it is fit with:
A place to explore, discover.
A place to socializing.
A place to exercise.
You state it is important, however the reviewer does not see how it contribute to either of those three.
Really? I’ve seen many structures like this throughout my exploration. Now you’re going to tell me they’re not valid? I mean, when I see one, I’ll report it and have it removed, so I get another email telling me it’s not eligible for removal.
It is a bit confusing but removal criteria # approval/rejection criteria
Something like this can be mistakenly approved and it is staying there. However to remove it is either need to be in an unsafe location, K-12 school, privater property or the location does not exist anymore.
You didn’t read what I wrote, right? This structure is in a public square. The structure has been there for a long time because it’s a square frequented by local people. The rejection wasn’t by the reviewers, it was by the IA. It’s also happened to me before that the IA rejected it, and so did the appeal. I’ll open the issue here and they’ll fix it. So, I hope the person in charge responds.
I disagree with your comment. You did get feedback on both your statements.
First, your nomination is in essence just a nice looking recycle box. In my opinion always difficult to accept, but even utilityboxes are sometimes accepted if they look special.
Problem is, a single recycle box may be considered special, if there are a lot of them, they are just not that special anymore, so I understand why reviewers (including appeal staff) would reject this one.
Second, regarding removing the existing POI’s, this is always done with extra care. So this one may have been close to being accepted, but just didn’t make it, that doesn’t mean that the others have to be removed. This could however still happen, but the hurdle is high (to avoid a lot of disappointment for the community/players).
@TrungLatias and @pokemaster4u2 gave you great advice on this. Yes, you can post appeals on the forum that you think were incorrectly rejected, and occasionally they will be overturned. I do not think that this appeals decision was clearly wrong, and do not expect you will get a reply from staff here, but you might.
The machine learning model “learns” so it may change in how it evaluates individual nominations. The more of these it comes across, the better it should be at evaluating them. Based on my very limited understanding of the process: https://nianticlabs.com/news/machinelearning
Hi,
Given what I can see in the photo and the description and appeal text more needed to be done to make the case for this object. That is why I think the appeal was not successful.
So back to the basics of this nomination, and try to see if it is eligible and stands a good chance.
Is there a reason for this design? It is unusual to have a recycling bin in this shape. Is it part of a project, a unique item? You need to research and find out.
If the answer is yes to the above, then it is worth trying again.
I think you need a better photo that shows off the shape as distinct from the background.
A title and description that focuses on turning something plain into something interesting….The mix of colours must make it interesting as it fills. The description should say some information about what you uncover. This is something that if it was a simple bin would not be acceptable explain what is different here that makes it worthy of inclusion.
Here is a recycle bin I had accepted
A unique local art project with information about the project on the bin. It was about the art. It was to encourage recycling and to make the place nicer.
If you want this heart to be acceptable you are going to have to put in much more effort to the nomination to show how it meets criteria.
Well, I’ll try again. It’s not like there’s one on every corner in town. It’s the only one in the entire small town, and this structure was built alongside the park renovation. It’s a unique and persistent way to collect plastic caps. IA has already rejected proposals several times, which isn’t fair, since this is a unique object with a purpose, and in an area completely accessible to the public: a small park.
