Appeal to Restore Wayspot for Slave Community Historical Marker

Wayspot Title: Sycolin Community Cemetery Historical Marker
Location (lat/lon): 39.067415, -77.551541
City: Leesburg, VA
Country: U.S.A.
Screenshot of Rejection Email: N/A
Additional Information (if any): This Pokéstop was removed inappropriately. It is a historical marker telling the story of a community founded by descendants of former slaves in 1884. The marker is located at the trailhead of a 900-foot loop hiking trail that leads to two burial sites. This is an important point of interest, recognizing the struggles of the descendants of slaves and our county’s history after the Civil War.

This may have been removed by a trainer who did not understand how to access the area. There is a grass parking lot for public access to the hiking trail and the burial sites. The gravel entrance is on Sycolin road and viewable on Google Satellite Maps. Photo included below.

I respectfully request that the Pokéstop be restored. It meets all guidelines and is an important point of interest. You can learn more about the location at the Historical Marker Database Website
