After the new wayfarer site update, i’m not sure if the AI got changed or anything in the system did, but for the first time ever, 2 of my submissions back to back got auto rejected before ever even making it into reviewing. One was rejected simply for “not meeting wayfarer criteria”. Not at all sure what this was about, so I appealed. It was accepted. Right after this, another submission was denied for being a duplicate. There were 2 brand new footbridges built on a trail system in my town. Both of which are distinct and separate, although they have the same architect. This does not constitute a duplicate. In fact, the photos AND supporting photos of the wayspot submissions clearly showed the second bridge in the background. I cleared up confusion for the reviewers in the supporting information. Linked the official city instagram page post on the grand reopening of this trail system that was brought about by the construction of these bridges, and properly marked them as distinct by their difference in geographic location, in size (one being 40 foot and one being 60 foot long) and their uniqueness to the obstacles they tackled for the pedestrian. I appealed, it was of course accepted as it could NOT have been more clear this was a separate footbridge along the trail. IT WAS IN THE
SUPPORTING PHOTOS THEMSELVES THAT THERE WERE TWO. BOTH S FOR THAT MATTER. So all fine and dandy, just a tad annoying, right? Wrong. So because wayfarer has tagged 2 of my submissions for auto denial, and I used my appeals, I now no longer have any appeals for 21 days. So you’re telling me, when YOUR system wrongly auto-rejects something I spent an hour working on to make sure there was no confusion and it couldn’t possibly be denied for being a duplicate, that I am now punished and have to wait 3 weeks to restore an appeal that I never should have had to use? Are you joking? This is absurd. I wouldn’t be appealing if it wasn’t obvious. If there was any ambiguity or I was towing the line, I’d hold the rejection fair and square. MAYBE i’d resubmit and frame it another way. Not to mention I had no idea I only had 2 appeals, as this is my first time ever getting rejected and using them. (I only have had one rejection on a memorial bench for a vietnam pilot, city councilman and alderman, all of which was linked in the supporting info but reviewers are apparently incompetent and woefully unpatriotic. Couldn’t have chosen someone more pertinent to their community than a vietnam war veteran who then served his community for the rest of his life. But sure, I digress.) I never appealed that nomination as it was when I first started out, and I was sure I could find more information to link so people wouldn’t be such sticklers on a memorial bench about a VIETNAM VETERAN. So to summarize, YOUR system auto-rejects on what criterion? And why is there no compensation for my appeal when it is YOUR fault. Like I said, if there was ambiguity, I’d understand. It couldn’t be more obvious who’s fault this is. So now I have to wait for these appeals to restore. Why? Fix your automated system, and fix this appeals nonsense. Please. There is no reason for the people who do the job FOR YOU on mapping the world to be punished because YOUR system wrongfully flags stuff. Fix the appeals limit. Please. Even if it’s like an american football challenge system. As long as you win that challenge, you don’t lose it. If you don’t it’s gone.

You aren’t being punished at all. We are allowed to make suggestions for improving a map that belongs to Scopely. Those suggestions have to follow a process and one of the hurdles is a machine learning tool that filters out an absolute _ton_ of crap submissions, but sometimes also catches a good one.

The alternative is that all those crap subs flood the system, and we go back to the voting process taking months, or even years as it was at one point.

Just as an aside, I had to skim-read your post, as the single block of text with sections of caps is very difficult to read on a screen.
