In the outskirts of our town we have a burial mound with a name: Asserhøj and a saga attached to it At night it stands on four pillars of fire, and whoever is buried there comes out to take a breath. And old people say that a man on whose field this mound was located once wanted to dig it up. But the first day he dug in it, two of his best horses died.. The mound is unfortunately located on private property.
There is a bus stop nearby which is named after the mound. I’m really sad that the mound cannot get a stop since the saga is really cool, and I know that bus stops are hard to get accepted. What do you think the chances are to getting the bus stop accepted?
Description:
No chance for the bus stop. The mound itself is valid as a POI - being on private property doesn’t make it ineligible. Single-Family Private Residential Property (SFPRP) is the exclusion. Not everyone has to be able to get to every wayspot, and it is perfectly valid to have wayspots in restricted areas as a general point.
The problem would be that almost no-one would be able to make use of the wayspot. You could still submit it though - I’ve populated a couple of areas with absolutely no phone signal simply because I found interesting things there.
Bus stops are typically ineligible as they are just seen as infrastructure, signs that let you know where you can catch a bus. Even with it being named after a burial mound doesn’t make it eligible, as there are many things with names after historical people/events/locations, and they are just part of local infrastructure.
I just went through my nominations because I was certain I had appealed the mound because it got rejected, but alas I have not. I can see the mound got rejected by the AI, which baffles me, I really thought it got rejected for being on private property.
Guess I have to appeal it then
If it gets accepted it will be reachable from the bus stop.
The general impression is that eMiLy does not like vegetation. Normally you have to refocus a photo to get past that problem, but this is a grassy mound.
I would submit (or appeal) the mound, and not the bus stop.
With regards to the point about graves being a sensitive location, I wouldnt consider that applying to these kinds of mound as they are typically thousands of years old, so I would say they are a good place to explore
