The second shows where it appears when I copy the coordinates directly from the ‘Get directions’ button on the Wayfarer map and paste them as a PokéStop on the Pogomap.info site:
Using the roofs as a tool to orient yourself, you can clearly see that it is not in the right place. It may just be bad shadows on the Google and Wayfarer maps that got me confused.
Looking at the PogoMap map, you can also clearly see the mosaic in question, which should clearly be here instead:
There was clearly some misalignment caused by the different shadows on Google Maps. The correct coordinates are: 46.212019, 11.098100 I ask that it be moved there if possible; it would be a shame if it didn’t appear in game for this stupid misalignment, given that it is a magnificent mosaic and important for my town community.
I am very confused. It is not at all clear to me that this is wrong. However, you can ask help chat to make a location correction for real world reasons - not just to appear in game. Go to https://wayfarer.scopely.com/new/help where a chat box will appear in the lower right. A bot will ask for information, and a human will reply in the box later when they have had a chance to analyze the request.
They may need location tagged photos or video or something like that as evidence. And you can link this topic if you think you have proved it here, but I am very confused.
I’m telling you, there are some issue with the satellite pictures on Google Maps, look at the pogomap screenshot and go take a look and search it yourselves on pogo, it should be right on top of it while if I use the same coordinates it appears totally misaligned on Google and Wayfarer Maps, also on pogo you can see the mosaic tower and the mosaic so that is the right coordinates
I’ve done this right now. Thank you for the tip. Can an admin please tell me if it sees the support ticket? Bot told me that it will send me an email etc but I don’t see any ticket or new contributions on Wayfarer.
The bot took your email to make sure the account is registered, but you do not get an email from help chat inquiries. Everything is done in the chat box. Possibly make a note of the ticket number just in case.
Hi and welcome. I think it’s very, very likely the support team will use Google satellite and not other sources as a frame of reference, tbh. Appearing in any games is also unlikely to be a criterion. I also don’t see where there is a bug here as can be addressed by Wayfarer, so I moved this to General Discussion .
That’s a shame because it would’ve made it to pokemon go 100% given that is the only one in that cell, really there’s nothing you guys can do about it? It clearly is a matter of misalignment
I cant right now cause it’s 11:45pm here and the gates of the center are closed but I can go there tomorrow or when it is open and take a photo directly under the mosaic with a geo tag photo app, do you have any to suggest for iOS other than the default camera app?
Your problem is not with geotags though, your problem is with not agreeing to use Google satellite as the underlying map. The GPS coordinates do not change depending on the map source you use so I’m not sure they would help in any way in this instance.
Once again, I strongly doubt the team will take “being in a game” as an argument. (I am not a Wayfarer employee, if the “you guys” was directed at me.)
Wayfarer staff will put the Wayspot at the actual physical location of the point of interest. That is why I was saying to prove the actual physical location.
You’re completely right, just that the physical location seems clear enough already! It sounds to me that the OP is suggesting to use Esri satellite as the “source of truth” on where the building walls are instead of Google satellite, since using Esri would satisfy their request to put it into an empty cell. It also seems to me that this is unlikely to happen.
The real issue is that you use the wrong tools to see the grid. The map you used, doesn’t use the official grid lines. Only the real map counts, so I’m sorry, this wayspot will not be in the game unless La Corte is removed. Both really are in the same cell.
Actually, it’s more likely that the issue is with the PogoMap satellite view, and not with Google. PogoMap uses much lower quality imagery than Google uses, and it’s often offset or at a slightly different angle to what you would see on other mapping services like Google. Given that wayfarer typically utilises Google Maps, it’s best to stick to that map data when checking the cells, which is why Wayfarer Tools exists.
