Conflicting instructions - Square/park signs

Hello everyone,

I juste go an appeal that was rejected that bothers me.

In France, we often have Square/park signs on the opposite side of the road.

In this nomination you can see on the photo below the sign that is circled in pink and the square/park on the other side of the road.

It is recommended to use physical objects to anchor nominations, but when I do so, the nomination is rejected because it is a mass-produced object. If I had submitted the small park without the sign, the nomination would have been rejected because it was not anchored to a physical object or because of the nature. What should I do in this situation? This has happened to me several times now and it’s getting annoying.

The best approach for a park like this without a sign is to use a photo of the entrance. If this is rejected by community review, you can resubmit or appeal.

Using something from the other side of the road is very likely to fail. When this something is a street name sign, you’ve got a guaranteed failure.

Also:

This square already has a wayspot (Mémorial Émile Girodet 45.447887,4.381862) as well a mislocated one (Immeuble Pyramide 45.447829,4.381565 has been placed where the photo was taken instead of where the POI is).

The road around the outside is called Place Girodet and this is what that street name sign is for.

Why not just submit the playground?

I feel like “Immeuble Pyramide” is originally the playground and that the title was changed, really odd how where it is placed

Oh, indeed. It has two pictures including the playground, one with the pyramid building in the background, but is named after the building. The name hasn’t changed since May 2025, so it’s hard to know when this happened.

It’s also hard to know how to request a correction, since the name doesn’t match the photos. I would be tempted to take a picture just of the pyramid, submit this via help chat and explain the situation, asking for the other photos to be removed/demoted. Then the playground can be submitted.
