- Wayspot Title: E-Town Convention Bureau
- Location (lat/lon): 37.71146789058965, -85.83495723089821
- City: Elizabethtown
- Country: United States
- Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information): N/A — I did not submit a removal report and did not receive a rejection email. This Wayspot previously existed and recently disappeared from Pokémon GO.
- Additional Information (if any):
The E-Town Convention Bureau Wayspot previously existed at this location in Pokémon GO. I did not request its removal. I noticed that the existing Wayspot had disappeared after a separate Wayspot nomination I submitted at the same building was accepted.
The historic E-Town Convention Bureau plaque is still physically present on the exterior of the building. It is a permanent, fixed plaque/marker and has not been removed. It is not temporary signage.
Although the building’s current use may have changed from its former Convention Bureau use, the historic Convention Bureau plaque remains permanently installed at this location and is an identifiable historical feature of the site.
I am requesting that Niantic please review what happened to the former E-Town Convention Bureau Wayspot and determine whether it was removed in error.
I have included a current photograph showing that the historic plaque remains permanently installed at the location. I can also provide additional evidence of the former Wayspot and its previous location if needed.
Thank you for reviewing this appeal.
Hello and Welcome @Speedy311
The wayfarer map data is slightly old, but the pokemonGo map shows it has gone.
I suspect what may have happened was that when your wayspot was in review the other wayspot was seen and as the title was solely about the place and its function it was reported as no longer having that function. And removed.
you can wait and see what the Team says, as it may be considered repurposing to shift the wayspot to being about the plaque.
If there isn’t a positive outcome then you could submit the the plaque as a plaque with the information about why it is there and perhaps why it remains.
Thank you!! I really appreciate you taking the time to explain what may have happened. That actually makes a lot of sense.
I’ll wait and see what the Wayfarer Team says. The plaque is still permanently installed at the location, and I can provide a current photo of it if the Team needs any additional evidence. It is also visible at the location on Google Maps.
Hopefully it can be restored or appropriately represented as the plaque, but if not, I’ll definitely consider your suggestion of submitting the plaque itself with the history and context behind it.
Thanks again for the help!
Hey @Speedy311 ,
I see that the Wayspot was connected to “Elizabethtown Tourism and Convention Bureau”, and it has been moved to the new location of the bureau.
Thanks,
ok so, there are some steps to consider.
First of all the building with the newly approved art work, what is it? Could it be considered in its own right, does it meet criteria?
Ask at the building if there are any plans to remove the plaque. It’s important to understand what may become of the plaque and if it is worthy of consideration in its own right.
Since the wayspot has been moved but if the plaque remains it would be helpful to update the photo of the new location with a current picture of the Convention bureau.
The wayspot has been moved to 37.694220,-85.856500 This building is marked on google maps as the location of the bureau. And street view from 2024 shows the building being refurbished, that could well be to make it ready as the bureaus new home. I have found different addresses so as you are there a small project might be to establish where it is currently located and take an up to date photo. If it is at the co ordinates above you may need to ask helpchat to add the picture as it is not in game, though it may yet be a power spot.
It would be quite an effort to go to.
Thank you Ellie! You’re the best!
The Bureau has just got a new location, but i have spoke with the building owners. They are not taking down the plaque. I believe the building now has multiple functions. Few event spaces.
Some historical rooms showcasing the history of the city. Also a work space i believe.
The building now and the art work, i really hope it all works because it is such great historical murals local artists have made. Holds such a deep meaning for the city.
As for the new location. They might need there own pictures. I could help with that possibly.
But the plaque remains at this location, and will be permanent.
Honestly the building sounds far more interesting and an easier submit than the plaque.
I think set up a new topic for it in nomination support and we can help figure this out.
Thank you Ellie.
My only concern is the murals in the different rooms and spaces I’ve nominated would stay separate and have a high chance of being accepted so it can be showcased.
What do you think I should write for the new topic? Sorry I’m very new to this.
I recently started playing again earlier this year. I’m level 56 now and been saving up all my nominations. I been really passionate about certain places I would love to see get nominated and showcase as pokestops or gyms. Highlight great locations that have not been found. I’ve always looked forward to helping nominate cool pokestops and gyms.
Just started grinding reviews and being part of this community. Trying to help as much as I can
It’s lovely to hear all this.
Why not call the topic ElizabethTown submissions.
Tell us all about the building what it is called and if it has a website.
I will post some other useful things in that topic.
Okay thank you so much for your help. I hope its not to vague and enough. Just large event spaces and office space that has amazing meaningful art workout throughout. They don’t have a website yet also. I’m going to create a post here soon
