Elizabethtown Submissions

Hi everyone!

Ellie suggested that I start an Elizabethtown Submissions topic here to get some help with several potential nominations at this location before submitting them.

These have not all been submitted or rejected, so I don’t have a nomination screenshot, rejection reason, or finalized title/description/supporting information for each one yet. I’m hoping to get some advice so I can put them together correctly.

Location:

1030 Mulberry
1030 N. Mulberry Street
Elizabethtown, Kentucky

Permanent Plaque

The building was previously home to the Convention Bureau, which recently moved to a new location. However, the permanent plaque remains at 1030 Mulberry.

I spoke directly with the building owners, and they confirmed that the plaque is not being removed and will remain permanently at this location.

I’m hoping to pursue the plaque as its own Wayspot based on what it represents, its history, and its permanent connection to this location. I’d appreciate any advice on the best way to present it.

1030 Mulberry

The building itself is now called 1030 Mulberry and has multiple uses. From what I currently understand, it includes large event spaces, office/workspace, and a room showcasing Elizabethtown’s history and heritage.

I’d also like to pursue 1030 Mulberry itself as a potential Wayspot and would appreciate advice on what information or evidence would make the strongest nomination.

Artwork and Murals

There are also multiple pieces of meaningful artwork and murals by local artists throughout different rooms and spaces in the building. Some have already been submitted or are being considered as individual nominations.

One thing I want to make sure I approach correctly is keeping the building, permanent plaque, and individual artwork clearly distinct so each can be considered on its own merits.

The building does not have its own website yet.

There is also a second much larger parking area behind the building, and I have a current photo of that if it would be helpful for showing access or understanding the property layout.

I’m happy to take additional current photos or gather more information about any of these if it would help.

Thank you all for the help! I really appreciate it.

The plaque doesn’t inspire me. I think you need to go inside to confirm what is located in this building. If there is a display that tells the history of the area (and that sounds like a reasonable thing to find here), that would be good for exploration. If there is a room that can be rented for gatherings that can be a separate wayspot for socializing.

Thanks for this. Having a website for the building will help.

Do take lots of photos. Don’t put any potential wayspot photos anywhere online except if you want to share here. This avoids any problems with photos being considered 3rd party. I think event space and unique artwork sounds more promising than the plaque.

Since you are likely to be submitting places where location is hard to verify, consider taking sequences of photos that “lead the reviewer “ to the location.

The websubmit option allows 5 supporting images this could include a screen shot or photo of a plan of the building layout.

Hi Ellie,

Thank you for the advice. That is what i will be working on next. I had a question though. Three of the artwork for different spaces got approved almost a week ago and has not shown up on the map. It is showing on the naintic wayfarer map as not in game. I was so excited to see these in game finally. Can you help me if there’s anything i can do for it to show up in game?

This will be due to the Proximity Rules (1 per cell).

https://community.wayfarer.scopely.com/t/why-an-accepted-wayspot-may-not-be-used-in-pokemon-go-s2-cells-and-pokemon-go

This is the official Wayfarer Map with the cells overlaid. Map data is currently 3 days old…

I see so many existing poke stops/gyms in the same cell.
Also I thought the more poke stops there are in one cell the chances of one of them turning into a gym is greater.
I’m hoping to eventually get a gym here. Can you help me maybe what I could do now?

The Welcome sign am i able to move it a few feet so it falls into the bottom right cell? Its all open space people can take pictures and rest.

This is very uncommon now. Are you sure you aren’t seeing multiple wayspots in one cell, but with only one being an active pokestop in Pokemon Go?

The more pokestops in an S2 L14 cell, the more gyms: you get a gym at 2, 6, and 20 pokestops. The gym is effectively selected randomly.

Yes only one is active poke stop. I thought the more way spots that get approved, they become poke stops and then a chance at a gym.
I read about the S2 L14 cell and you get a gym at 2, 6, and 20 pokestops.

I thought I was following that and this fell under that. Since some are in the same cell.
:frowning:

It’s simply that when an area is crowded (i.e., an S2 L17 cell already has a pokestop), the extra wayspots don’t become pokestops. They might become powerspots

I think you are getting confused between L17 Cells (the smaller ones) and L14 Cells (the larger ones)

The 4 that you can see in the screen grab above are the smaller L17 Cells. Only 1 wayspot in each of these should be used as a Pokestop or Gym (there are some exceptions but they are rare and user nominated spots should not create these).

The larger L14 Cells are made up of 64 (8x8) L17 Cells. It is these cells that determine how many will become a Gym. It counts occupied L17 Cells so each of the shaded cells is counted as 1 occupied cell.

2 Occupied Cells = 1 Pokestop + 1 Gym
6 Occupied Cells = 4 Pokestops + 2 Gyms
20 Occupied Cells = 17 Pokestops + 3 Gyms

Do not attempt to move a wayspot that is deemed to be correct even to another correct location. This is seen as Abuse and can lead to Warnings / Suspensions on both Wayfarer and GAMES accounts.

This is the L14 (Larger Cell). I have removed everything that isn’t a Pokestop or Gym.

This shows that you have 11 Occupied Cells (9 Pokestops (blue) + 2 Gyms (red)).

The number 9 in the middle is stating that you need nine more Accepted wayspots in the unoccupied cells to get another Gym.

We are not told how Gyms are chosen but there does seem to be a lot of Random involved (with a few other rules) so even if you get another 9 wayspots you only have a 1 in 18 chance of it being a specific 1 you hope for.

Okay thank you so much. I thought the more in a small cell would increase the chances. That’s why i was excited.
Do you suggest i still nominate some of the other artwork in the other rooms i haven’t gotten around to?

Also you said not to try to move a wayspot even if it’s still considered the correct location?

If the current location for a Wayspot is correct, do not attempt to move it to make it show in game. Even if it is to another spot that would also be correct, this can be considered game manipulation abuse.

If the current location is not correct, you can ask for a location edit.

Hi Ellie,

So they do have a website they just shared with me.

Should i go ahead and submit this as the business/building?
Also if there’s already a poke stop in the smaller cell would there even be a chance of this being a poke stop itself?

Thank you

Hi

I was just looking at it :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

That little triangle at the entrance is your target area as it is an empty cell.

Place a wayspot at the entrance for the whole building could work.

Questions…..the website mentions a cafe where abouts is that located?

Is there a sign near the entrance about the different spaces?

Using the websubmit you have 5 images a nice main photo

The architecture of the entrance is distinctive so if you can get a picture that gets that nicely preferably with the 1030 then you should have a good image for your main

Additional pictures could be from inside that shows it is an event venue.

Talk about the different places within it and how there is artwork celebrating Elizabethtown and a cafe. You are trying to build a concise picture of it being a great place to go and be social.

I think that is worth a go.

Show us what sort of thing you are drafting there are US reviewers here who are more in tune as to what to expect.

Thank you so much! You’re the best!

Okay that’s what i was thinking. That or saving that space for other artwork that is in that Area.
The cafe isn’t open yet. There is a sign inside saying its coming soon. So i won’t bother with that for now.

I’ll use this as my main pic

and thinking just list the website and say its a multiple versatile venues. Also features really cool historic artwork through out the building. With few pictures of the inside.

I would use another angle to show the entrance in the supplementary.

Yes if the cafe is not quite open leave that for now.

This is all I have and it shows the doors and entrance is clearly at that corner of the building

You think this as the secondary picture is okay?

Is it from street view? The lamppost is disjointed.

That angle is good.
