Beginning of september i entered a spot for review, opened the app today and got excited because there is a pokestop now, found out someone else had the same idea and its not mine. Is there a way to delete my request so it does not take up time from people becaus by now it obviously is a double?

Go to Niantic Wayfarer and find the submission. If it is shown as in voting or under review, you cannot withdraw it and need to wait for it to be rejected.
If it is shown as in the queue, you can withdraw it - click on Edit and then use the Withdraw option at the bottom of the pop-up screen.
If you are too late to withdraw it, don’t worry. A duplicate won’t be held as a mark against you or anything like that.
