Hello, me and my roommate both play go, so I’m confused as to what I should do if one of their nominations appear on wayfarer. I don’t want to get falsely flagged for skewing the voting system so should I just skip? Thanks
If you think your judgement is bias, you should skip imho. Because more or less you are influenced to approve it. The last thing you want is get suspension because of voting ring.
If you can fairly rate the nomination per criteria, then I think it is okay to go ahead and review it. But we do have a lot of skips, if you aren’t sure you can be fair.
Maybe a stupid question, but what is a voting ring?
Fortunately as far as I know, I never came across a submission of one of my family members. But if so, do I have to skip them?
I’m now trying to do three reviews a day, I know it’s not a lot but I take the time to review a submission
It should be much harder to do these days with many more people reviewing there is less chance of groups manipulating there own nominations.
In the early days when the level required to join wayfarer was higher it was possible that a large group could get enough of their own nominations to skew the results.
Scopely have processes in place to try and detect it. They don’t state how voting works but lets say it is sent to 50 reviewers. Someone nominates 10 wayspots. 20 random people reject but the same 30 Accept every time this will indicate a voting ring.
Thanks, that’s no issue in our group, not a lot of trainers participate in Wayfarer. The trainers that submit Wayspots submit them also outside out our main playing area. I think there are even less reviewers. When I review I almost never come across a submission from our city so that’s fine and I’ll skip it if I would ever come across a nomination of one of my family members, just to be sure.
Although I would probably reject it if I thought it was a bad submission so skipping it is always the best and most peaceful option 
The trainers I know that do participate in Wayfarer also reject bad submissions. One friend of us even went to a location to check if something really existed.

You can vote normally, as you would do with any other nomination.
You wouldn’t be flagged as long as you’re following the guidelines.
These are multiple accounts colluding together to influence voting in Wayfarer.

That’s no issue in our city, from the group (more then 700 members), as far as I know only know four other trainers sometimes submit Wayspots and I think only two (including me) are doing Wayfarer Reviews (one is too lazy )
Together with the other trainers we do submit a lot of routes.
And lately we (me and two other trainers and hopefully soon three) try to refresh some really old and blurry photos, we do talk about that, because we don’t want to add a new photo to the same Wayspot. I hope that’s okay.
