Flight Paths at ATL (Fixing the Atlanta Airport: Part 1)

When submitting a Wayspot Appeal, make sure to include as much of the following information as possible:

  • Wayspot Title: Flight Paths at ATL
  • Location (lat/lon): 33.640842,-84.437756
  • City: Atlanta
  • Country: USA
  • Additional Information (if any):

The Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta airport has underground pedestrian walking tunnels that connect the Concourses together. Each underground pedestrian walking tunnel has its own permanent art or historical information installation.

This wayspot is located in the underground pedestrian walking tunnel between Concourse A & B. The wayspot was retired for some mysterious reason approximately 2 months ago (along with numerous other wayspots at the Hartsfield Atlanta Airport, but this report is just going to focus on this specific corridor at this time).

Here is the wayspot as it appears in Ingress (and where it should be also in the Wayfarer Map, as it still exists there).

Here is a photo from August 2026 showing the ample pedestrian access, installation still existing, and signage showing that it leads directly to Concourse B.

Also in the same corridor is an informational sign, which had a wayspot, which was also retired at the same time.

  • Wayspot Title: Information About Flight Paths
  • Location (lat/lon): 33.640945,-84.438246

The information sign is located at the west entrance of the underground tunnel (Concourse A side).

…in summary, please reinstate these incorrectly removed wayspots.

Thanks for the appeal, @SerAmanda! We gave this a second look and decided to restore the Wayspot in question.
