Is there any way that these can be accessed remotely the same way Raids are?
I have gone down with a bug and am bedridden. Although I am sitting on a D max which will activate tomorrow, there are no G maxes near me so I have missed out on the G Laparas. 
That’s a question for the Pokémon GO team, which you can ask via your app.
It’s not something the Wayfarer team can change.
@molyfar543 i have closed the topic as it is not relevant to Wayfarer.
But the simple answer is no.
I’m sure there will be other opportunities.
