General Wayfarer AMA Discussion

I would assume “visit” includes Pikmin Bloom interactions. Mushrooms fought, post cards generated, etc. ETA: And Monster Hunter Now!

Hi @MargariteDVille , I moved your comment - discussion for user submitted AMA questions lives here.

The 2019 lawsuit settlement was with the old Niantic company… Maybe selling to Scopely releases those promises? It wasn’t a verdict - it was a settlement between two parties.

Perhaps the “long term plan” is for those imports to only be used with interactions you don’t have to be in proximity? For example, in Pikmin Bloom you can be anywhere within the S14 cell of a mushroom, to attack it.

Same here - please make your comments in this thread instead if you’d like to specifically engage with one of the questions or add your thoughts

can i use Gemini (which will leave a water mark) to edit photos and then submit those photos for waypoints?

Hi @nukamango
Welcome to the forum :hugs:
No, photos with watermarks are not allowed and you need to take photos which you want to add to a wayspot on your own.

How many answers will be answered? Is there a minimum vote threshold?

Sorry they haven’t commented about that.

Hello Wayfinders,

Just a couple hours left before we close the voting period! If you haven’t done so already, you have until 1:00pm PT to submit your votes

Hopefully, any that aren’t answered will be covered in general discussion if appropriate or moved to the next AMA. Assuming it happens next year. I remember a time when it was weekly - the world was a better place then.

Hello Wayfinders! Our responses have been posted! Check them out below!

Ooh, some are not going to like seeing all of the “coming soon” answers.

I can see the Wayfarer map, when it arrives, being a huge benefit, with the features that it’ll have. Also glad that there is work already in place for so many of these questions that were asked, so I hope there are some good improvements coming!

I agree, but in full honesty, I’d rather give a firmer date once we’re closer to the actual arrival of the feature/tool/change. Lots can happen between now and then that force us to change (extend or shorten timelines) so rather than giving set time now that can change, I’d rather give you one we’re very confident about meeting. Hope this helps add context to the reason we us wording such as end of the year, mid next year, soon*

I’m not the one complaining, but I do know there will be some that do.

Hey Tintino,

Firstly, thanks for posting.

A couple of things spring to mind after reading the post.

  1. What happens with all the unanswered questions? Are they lost down the side of the couch never to seen again? And

  2. Some of the answers may invite more questions or seek further clarification. How would you prefer we proceed? On this thread?

And all good things come in threes…

  1. In the spirit of continuous improvement, how do we feedback on how this AMA went?

@ScopelyExpTintino regarding the team’s answer for the question about Wayforum Criteria, how does this affect clarifications that were given on the old forum (which isn’t accessible anymore) and not repeated on the current forum?

Hi @8h20m,

Of course! Thanks for the appreciation. Responses to your questions below:

  1. For now we focused on the ones that got the most votes but I’m not closed off to answering some of the others that got closer to making it to the top. I’ll go through these with our Ambassadors and see which ones will be easy to answer but also which ones will have the most impact
  2. Yeah, if our responses need clarification happy to address those.

Hope this helps!

That’s a great metric to be proud of. How is that prevented from being an echo chamber of self checking and appeals the community doesn’t bother complaining about here?

Or bad approvals that rarely get commented on and seem ignored by staff?

I’ll be honest, I feel dismissed by this. I asked because I feel it’s unclear and the community voted in hopes for some clarity.

A generic business, chain, or franchise that is not uniquely important to the local community

Just how this is worded is unclear.

There’s been many discussions on this forum if you’d love to engage about how this should be used. You left out details here on when we see the 1% of bad staff decisions to approve of generic franchise clothing stores but reject favorite local dining establishments.
