Ozdoba autobusové zastávky instalována v roce 2021 místní společností Preciosa Lightning

Supplemental Information

Decoration of a bus stop made by a local glasswork company Preciosa Lightning. Unique wayspot.

Hello, since 2021 a local lightning company Preciosa Lightning has been instaling these artistic bus stop decorations all over the town. They are made mostly from glass which is a thing our town is well known for. They all have informational sings about each decoration, it’s name, who designed it, etc. But the text is transparent so it’s hard to take a good picture of it (On the first photo you can see it on the left of the bus stop). Even some of the czech news sites have written articles about these decorations: Kamenický Šenov má další dvě skleněné zastávky, ve světě je tím asi unikátní | ČeskéNoviny.cz, https://ceskolipsky.denik.cz/zpravy_region/sklenene-zastavky-kamenicky-senov-20220606.html.

I’ve recently appealed this nomination from 2021 and it has been accepted, but this one hasn’t been accepted.

I’ve been trying to nominate other bus stops in town, but all of them are being
rejected by the system:

I think it’s very unique to have decorated bus stops like this and it would make a nice addtion to the game. I would be more than happy if this decision was reconsidered and this nomination was accepted.

Welcome to the forum @chicago500

I would try again with a main photo that centers on the art. Eliminate the background. Put the focus here:

I am disappointed that human reviewers could not tell this was art in an appeal.

I tried that before, also rejected.

I think you’re going to have to do some research on this. Surely your city is commissioning these art pieces from artists. Most towns/cities that have a program like that will have a website to describe it. Maybe there’s a newspaper article posted online. Or maybe there is an official document from the city posted online that talks about this program and the budget for it. They must have a schedule for the installations. When cities do this kind of work, they usually want/need to advertise it to the citizen so people understand how public funds are being spent. Go read what the officials have written about it and use links to those sources in your submissions and appeals.

Most likely each installation is from a different artist, so at least giving credit to the artist (with a title for the work if you can find it), will make your submission better.

I’ve seen similar art installations under overpasses. One was similar to this with clear glas hanging down with some mirrors and lights. There was a sign nearby naming the art, crediting the artist, and highlighting the larger community art project that was working with the city to add the installations.

I’d be surprised if there wasn’t information that could be found without too much difficulty @chicago500

Update: One of my glass art nomination got accepted after being appealed. I guess i am going to try appealing until they get to the right reviewer. :man_shrugging:
