(grandfather) Help understanding database anomaly

Dear Wayfaring Community,I am writing to seek advice regarding a unique Wayfinder database anomaly involving two live locations within the same S2 cell grid.Current Situation There are currently two active, live database points functioning simultaneously within the exact same grid cell:Point A (2020): Established and approved in 2020.Point B (2026): Established and approved in 2026.The Problem and Gym Status Changes During my review, I discovered that the 2026 nomination was originally submitted in an incorrect area. Before it was moved, this 2026 location had already generated as a Gym.The spot has since been geotagged and moved back to its true geographic location. By moving to its correct position, it now shares a cell with the 2020 point, bypassing the standard density check during relocation. Once moved into the same cell as the 2020 point, the 2026 location lost its gym rank.Additionally, there is another established gym located right behind this cell (which has a history of 4 years as a gym and 1 year as a stop in its respective setup), making the local gym distribution complex.Request for Guidance Because both locations are currently live and valid real-world spots, I want to ensure the database remains accurate without causing unintended map errors or system bugs. What is the best way to handle this specific location? Should this anomaly be reported for a manual review, or is it best to leave both active since they accurately represent distinct real-world features?Thank you for your time and expertise.

I did do an ai search on it and it told me it was a grandfather stop and it also mentioned that a grandfather stop glitch and that after the 2020 software update there been no nominated grandfather stop since the strict density rule coming out

I would absolutely love any type of information or clarification

Don’t ask “AI” this sort of question. Apart from not being able to understand the question, it pulls data from unreliable sources as well as reliable ones.

Sometimes, S2 L17 cells have two active wayspots and Scopely Explore have said everything is OK, so there are clearly situations where this is allowed. It’s just that no-one in the community knows what those rules are.

If you have a lot of cells with multiple wayspots, this is worth reporting as Scopely Explore might not have cleaned that area up. With a single cell, you could post the details and see if Scopely Explore respond.

Okay thanks for the info
