Hey @rymdkaktus ,
Please share the list of impacted Wayspots and their coordinates so we can look into it.
Thanks,
To answer a part of your question, yes it’s not reversible. The person already won basically, but if you post the examples and the staff find something wrong, you can stop further shenanigans this way.
It will reshuffle the gyms again
Yeah
Hi and welcome to the forum!
Maybe to add to the above discussion: you didn’t share the key point for your “does this count as abuse” question and the Wayfarer team’s action, which is whether the moves/removals were correct or incorrect.
Correct in this instance means whether the relocations were to actual real life locations of the objects, and whether the removals (if they are actual removals as opposed to Pokémon GO desyncs) were of objects that no longer exist, or are somehow ineligible or don’t have safe access. If this was the case, then no, this is not abuse.
As said above, examples are needed.
Thanks for all the help and answers!
Yes of course, what I meant was that I didn’t know if I could use the report abuse form for this. After all it’s only my suspicion but of course I could be wrong. Here are some of the removed gyms, coordinates as close I could on google maps, and an explanation.
Skansen Kronan
57°41’45.3"N 11°57’19.8"E
This is a famous landmark for the city, its in a public park open to everyone 24/7. I don’t see why it would be removed.
Merkurius
57°41’22.0"N 11°56’58.5"E
Its a kind of sculpture/plaque for the planet mercury with information. It’s univisually unique. It’s in a public park open 24/7 for everyone. Its still there, you can easily see it on street view. I don’t understand why it would be removed.
Drips
57°41’21.5"N 11°57’12.8"E
Honestly I can see why this was removed but if it’s the same player it could be interesting maybe.
Misplaced Izumo Oyashiro lante
57°41’15.1"N 11°57’36.6"E
I understand arguments that could be used to get this removed but I don’t agree with them. But same here if it would turn out to be the same player it could show something.
So Skansen Kronan, is on the map (maybe a different wayspot, but probably was a duplicate)
Mercurius: probably just my mistake, but I can’t see anything special at these coordinates
Drip: again I don’t see anything special
Izumo: this is an unsafe location
Sorry but I don’t see how this answers why these were removed, except for maybe the last one.
Okay, now I can see Mercurius:
Agree, this one should not have been removed
This POI is represented by Skansen Kronan Threshold (57.695966,11.955174), so this was properly reported for being a duplicate.
There is definitely something here. Was this the wayspot? It used to be in wayfarer so has been removed and I cannot see a legitimate reason for this. If this was a gym, there is the chance that an abusive removal report was made.
I don’t know if I agree, but it can be perceived as unsafe pedestrian access, and this is a reason for removal
Okay, that’s why I could not find it (the windows in the background look like they match)
Ok I don’t really think they are same but still, how can you see it was reported as a duplicate?
Since Skansen Kronan Threshold is not and have never been a pokestop I would be sceptical that it was the reason it was reported.
I don’t know for sure, but what sometimes happens, is that someone is proposing a new wayspot, and people will mark it as a duplicate. Every now and then reviewers will be asked what is the most appropriate locaction if a duplicate has multiple positions on the map. Probably people consider the other location more appropriate, it is however in an occupied cell, meaning it can only be a powerspot.
Edit: but as most pictures from the wayspots in this area have been there for many years, I don’t see anything that looks like abuse. There is one misplaced wayspot (57.696363,11.955387), but this one is in an occupied cell, and the correct position is also in an occupied cell.
This was a duplicate Wayspot.
Could you provide a video of the location proving that the Wayspot exists?
Once we have this information, we will review this case.
Best,
Merkurius is visible on the most recent streetview (and in the previous years)
This recent streetview is over 4 years old. We have evidence suggesting otherwise. This is why I asked for the video.
