Help requested – legitimate Wayspot nominations removed from my account

Hi, I’m hoping someone from the Wayfarer team may be able to help me with four legitimate Wayspots that were removed.

I recently discovered that my teenage son had accessed my account without my knowledge or permission and submitted fake Wayspot nominations.

Unfortunately, I was unaware of what he had done until it was too late. I completely understand why those fake nominations were identified and removed, and I am not asking for any of those fake nominations to be restored, and can only apologise sincerely for time wasting.

I have since spoken to my son and taken steps to make sure he cannot access my account or submit nominations again.

Unfortunately, following this, four of my genuine Wayspots that had previously been accepted were also removed.

These four Wayspots are genuine locations that I personally visited, photographed and nominated in good faith. They were accepted by the Wayfarer community and are entirely separate from the fake submissions made by my son.

I contacted Wayfarer Support on 18 September (ticket #306737), but I am still waiting to received a response, and myself, other son and husband are desperate for them to be reinstated if possible.

These are the four legitimate Wayspots requesting to be reviewed.

I completely understand that the activity on my account needed to be investigated. I would be very grateful if a member of the Wayfarer team could review these four legitimate, previously accepted Wayspots and if possible could they please be restore to the Wayspot network.

I am happy to provide any additional information required to assist with reviewing their removal, including the wayspot map coordination via email.

Thank you soooo much for taking the time to read this and for any help you can provide.

Best wishes. Charlie & Family (=

Welcome to the forum

You would need to provide solid evidence that these exist here to get them reinstated. For example, a video walkthrough which starts from somewhere which can be matched to streetview.

Just looking at these photos, I am extremely dubious that these exist, unless they are plaques that someone made and pinned onto trees.

Hi Thank you for the welcome to the forum and for taking the time to reply

I can certainly provide a video walkthrough of the bridleway/trail showing the signs in their surroundings and starting from a location that can be matched to Street View.

There are houses bordering the woodland, and we access the trail from the area behind our garden. I recently asked a neighbour who walks her dog through the trail every day about the signs, as we have only lived here for a few years. She told me that the signs have been there for as long as she can remember.

I only really became aware of them when we started playing Pokémon GO during the school summer holidays and began exploring the local trails more closely.

Before nominating them, I also researched the woodland, the public routes through it and the historical information available for the area. Based on what I found, along with the signs being established features of the woodland, I believed them to be authentic.

I am very happy to provide the relevant map references, exact locations and links to the information I found, as well as the video walkthrough. My only concern is that I don’t particularly want to publish the precise location publicly because our home is very close to the woodland.

Is there a way I can provide the exact location information and supporting evidence privately to a member of the Wayfarer team?

Thank you again for taking the time to reply, I really appreciate it!

Have a lovely day, Charlie (=

That information can be sent direct to Scopely Explore. Either start a help chat or wait for a PM/DM from staff.

You can use https://www.rowmaps.com/ to show that there is indeed a PROW at this location.

Hey @Charlie101K ,

We have evidence suggesting that these are Fake markers put up just for the sake of getting Wayspots. There is no such trail or pathway at this location.

I want to caution you against providing incorrect information. It may lead to permanent termination of your account.

Thank you for explaining. I understand and accept what you’re saying. I can confirm that I didn’t make or install any of the markers and genuinely believed they were legitimate when I found and nominated them. I certainly wouldn’t knowingly submit anything fake or provide incorrect information. Thank you for clarifying this for me.

Best wishes, have a nice day! Charlie (=
