Historic Train Station photos sign rejected

Recently TFL put up historic photographs of each station in the waiting areas.
I think it makes for a good submission for exploring and shows the history of the area. I’ve seen others that are similar accepted too.

It was rejected due to not being permanent or distinct, and low quality photo.
The photo looks fine to me but wondered what others think? As I’m not sure to appeal or resubmit (I’ve already used my 2 appeals yesterday …)

Thanks!

Hello and welcome @ScottCommons

What a cool thing. Well done TFL.

There is a bit of glare on photo nothing I would reject for.

Is there a website about the project as that will help demonstrate if it’s permanent.

Thanks!

I couldn’t find anything from TFL or elsewhere the regarding photos sadly, I believe they was put in the stations when they refurbed the stations for the Elizabeth line.

I did see a record of the sign as part of a google review in 2019
So it seems permanent to me. I wasn’t sure about including it in the supplementary info as the URL was really long

I think something that shows it was there 6 years ago and is still there is good. Don’t worry the length of a url shouldn’t be a problem.

“Distinct” is pretty subjective, it’s really up to the reviewer if they think it’s notable enough. “Permanent” is a tough one too, although I guess it is actually screwed to the wall else it might have been stolen. Photo quality looks fine.

Indoor wayspots are very hard to verify, GPS positioning indoors is poor so it’s difficult to get an accurate location when you are submitting, it’s also often very difficult to work out if it’s accurate from the supporting photo… it can help if you can find an angle where there’s a view out of the window (for example). Although that’s not stated as a rejection reason, it may be a contributing factor.

Thanks for all the help, I’ve managed to resubmit and it’s been accepted

Great news thanks for letting us know,
