I have spent so much money on this game to finally get to level 37 to be able to contribute to my community and make a waypoint. I then wasted HOURS of my life reviewing other people’s waypoints to earn an upgrade to get mine seen faster. Immediately, I’m talking 3 minutes, after my upgraded waypoint contribution was rejected. 0 explanation as of why. Now going through the Appeal process, I’m about to just quit the game all together. It makes me so sad because I was one working towards something and really having a blast doing it, just for it to be crapped on.

As a small note, spending money in Pokémon GO has no bearing on Wayfarer. That’s your personal choice to do that.

Actually, all submissions are reviewed by Emily, a machine learning program, within 24 hours of submission. This review combines various factors, including images and text, and submissions that are unlikely to be accepted are automatically rejected. It’s understandable that you wouldn’t know this when you first started using Wayfarer. I understand how frustrating it is to have your hard-earned upgrades go to waste.
If you’re willing, please provide information such as the image, title, location, recommendation reasons, and supplementary images of your submission. Together, we can advise you on whether your submission has a chance of being accepted and, if so, how to submit it properly. If this submission has a low chance of being accepted, we may be able to support you in understanding the criteria for selecting future submissions.

I can fully understand how deeply frustrating this situation is. You were doing the right thing by reviewing. You are likely to find that the upgrade wheel keeps ticking forward as other agreements slowly come in. And it will be adding to the badge in Pokémon Go.
It looks simple but it can be complicated to create new pokestops, but the community here will be happy to support you through that.

The reason for rejection will be on your contribution. If you don’t see it, logging out and back in to the wayfarer site will usually make it appear.
If the rejection is by the “automated process”, that happens when the ML (machine learning ai) model can’t detect anything it has been taught is eligible in the nomination. This check by the model tends to happen at around 20-24 hours after submission. I recommend not upgrading anything until after that time.
If your nomination was in voting already, then an almost immediate decision is very common with an upgrade. The wider audience would get those final votes needed for a decision. An upgrade does not help something get accepted, just decided.
I do hope you will share screenshots of your nomination so we can help you either make it better or explain why it doesn’t meet criteria. I think there is not enough education for new reviewers.
I understand that, and never said it was. I’m simply saying I was grinding to get to the point of being able to even contribute- therefore spending money.
Sorry to hear this. But for next submission, its recommended to wait at least 24 hours before upgrade. Because thats the time required for AI to reject your nomination. We dont know how AI work but its helpful in filtering many ineligible nomination. Personally i also have nomination rejected by AI that require me to appeal or resubmit.
I would like to say, my appeal was accepted and all is good! Today I walked by and there was a pokestop with my photo and information on it!
