I need assistance regarding a Wayspot that was unexpectedly removed.

Title: Mural de la comunidad voces unidas

Location: 32.79904° S, 70.58643° W
** city: San Esteban, Valparaiso
** Country: Chile

I’ve included geotagged photos of the location. The mural isn’t visible on Google Street View yet because the coverage is from 2024, whereas the mural was created in December 2025.

Looks like this is on the wall of a private residence which isn’t allowed so makes sense it is removed.

Let me know if I’m mistaken

The wall directly faces the street and was painted to enhance the view for the Teodoro Zenteno community. Furthermore, it was created for the community by local residents as part of a project to improve the street’s overall appearance.

Unfortunately that doesn’t make it eligible.

Single-family private residential properties (SFPRP), farms, and K-12 (schools or facilities primarily focused for persons under 18 years of age) are ineligible. This includes the outer facing facade, fence of these locations, and property boundaries.

As it is on the outer facing wall, that’s still the property of the house so it seems the removal was correct.

It also looks extremely worn for something that was only created in 2025.

Even though it was created as part of a project for people to admire—being one of 20 murals in the urban beautification initiative—it seems illogical to me that it isn’t able to fulfill its main purpose.

That’s correct. As it’s on the private property, it is ineligible and the removal is correct.

Staff may weigh in too and say much the same.

San Esteban is a town where it rains all winter, and in the summer, the sun stays out relentlessly from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

It does fulfil its main purpose, which is to enhance the area. Being a wayspot is not why a mural is created.

(As well as being on SFPRP, it also appears to be against the roadside, so safe access is an issue unless vehicles are forbidden.)

Okay, although I disagree with a few things, thanks for the answers
