It appears to be a billboard, but the street view did not allow us to decipher the posting. When I reviewed it, I think I selected Other and wrote some comments.
I believe this submission is a bulletin board with a post box installed in a housing complex and installed by the management company to post information. Had it been a place where people in the local community could freely use and interact, I would have ed it. But since the only record is on the wayfarer server I can’t even see the pictures.
I would like to see what happened to act as a good wayfinder and what actions were considered violations. To reflect if I was wrong.
If it was an act of retaliation for being rejected, then it should not be me who gets the warning.
However, I have too little information.
Thanks for the response.
I have already received an email with the outcome of the allegation.
I insisted that they tell me what happened because there is so little information, but it seems that is not allowed.
There is nothing much you can do once u appeal and got reply. Just becareful i guess. As long u careful, u should be fine. After 1 year, the warning will be cleared to a clean slate
"With the exception of those who have been sentenced to a 10-year suspension, offenders who have behaved impeccably for a period of one year will have their previous offense forgiven. This means that their account returns to a clean slate level and their previous offenses will not cause them to have stronger punishments, should they misbehave again.
We understand that mistakes can happen and believe in giving second chances. We want to encourage users to learn from their errors and become valuable contributors to the Wayfarer community."
So that I can learn from my mistakes and become a valuable member of the Wayfarer community.
This Wayspot was accepted after I received a warning.
A staff member explained to me that "Noticeboards serve as a gathering place and can be eligible if they are not on any ineligible location. "
In the meantime, I reread the section in the Eligibility Criteria titled “A great place to be social with others” over and over again, but it seems I’m still not a good Wayfarer.
I hope the people who come after me don’t end up like me.
This is just a thought, not even an opinion on this nomination but the translation makes it sound that this is for announcements for a single “group / company / housing association” aimed solely at the residents of the 1 building. When to put your bins out, work will be carried out on the lifts etc.
To me a “Noticeboard” would have notices from various people and be for the general public. A fair will be in the park, an event to happen in the town centre, bingo times in the village hall.
Is it possible this is the difference they are making?
After seeing the DMs between @ScopelyExpAaron and @ARPeggioRev2 , I assumed the matter had been resolved. If the warning hadn’t been rescinded, it breaks my heart to think that OP has had to endure this injustice for the past year. Furthermore, I cannot contain my anger toward Wayfinder, who abused the reporting system to deceive the team and force this injustice upon OP.
The reality of the contested noticeboard
The noticeboard in question is located within the common area of an apartment building, positioned directly between the mailboxes. It contained only a single sheet of paper, and the text was too blurry to read or verify. At the very least, since its purpose and relevance were completely unclear, this represents a failure on the submitter’s part to provide sufficient proof for their appeal. It is completely absurd that a reviewer should receive a warning for correctly identifying a low-quality, unverified submission.
Findings from checking surrounding Wayspots
Upon inspecting other existing noticeboard Wayspots in the nearby area, I discovered that many of them are nothing more than property management boards. They consistently feature only four specific types of notices:
Cleaning and maintenance schedules from the housing management company.
Rules and warnings regarding building facilities (e.g., what not to flush down the toilets).
Emergency contact information for the maintenance support center.
Renovation and repair schedules for the building equipment.
The malicious nature of the abuse reports
It is extremely malicious that a submitter submitted an abuse report against a reviewer simply because they were unhappy that their poor-quality nomination was rejected. By abusing the report system out of spite, these toxic submitters are weaponizing penalty system to intimidate honest reviewers.
Thank you for your reply.
At the time, I believed that saying “YES” and keeping my mouth shut was the correct choice if I wanted to continue playing the game. Personally, I had no intention of arguing that certain types of things shouldn’t be on the map; I believed I was acting strictly according to the criteria and community guidelines.
I am not seeking any particular outcome now that over a year has passed. I simply felt the need to bring some transparency to this topic so it could serve as a useful reference for newcomers.
Then again, if the reporter acted out of malice, I made the mistake of unilaterally exposing my identity in a public space. It was like climbing up to a high place while carrying a target mark on my back.
