Incorrectly positioned (danger) approved waystop -- Unable to request in app as there was no pokestop for this approved POI

Hello Niantic team and community,

I’m reaching out about an accepted waystop submission that is placed in the incorrect (unsafe) location. I am unable to submit this in the pokemon go app, as the waystop is approved by Niantic, but not a pokestop in game.

I have provided screenshot evidence for 1. my proposed coordinates 38.803829, -121.365155in blue, which better captures the location of the swing and 2. the current dangerous approved waystop location (red) being on the road/street.

Additionally, I have provided the screenshot my original approved screenshot. Incorrect estimated the location on my original submission.

Thank you for your consideration and assistance. I’m happy to provide more context and proof as needed .

The wayspot appeals is for specific appeals. This will probably be moved into General Discussion or Nomination Support.

As for your requested location change, it does seem like genuine one that needs a correction and good you are doing that now.

You can also use The Niantic Wayfarer Help Chat, under the Tab “Help”. A textbubble will appear bottom right corner. Click that and choose “Wayspot edits”, choose for location edits >10M. Provide all the information and evidence and the human team will take a look at it then, usually within a day.

Hello and welcome @kachew94015

It is not always easy to know where to post up your query but as been said this is for very specific types of appeals.
I am moving this to nomination support.

I notice that this is remarkably close to Jim Gray Park, which is about 3m to the SW of that location. Curiously, the spot that the swings have been accepted in is in the same cell as the park, while the new location would be in a separate empty cell as the cell boundary is on an angle.

There are several things to consider

The dedication plaque to the north blue should also be corrected as it is on the road.
The current sign I have marked with a red arrow should be at the red spot as that is where the information board is.
The green marker for swings is mis pinned. However your suggested spot is equally unsuitable. A pin should not be placed in the area where the equipment is in active use.
The swings are not eligible as a separate item they are part of the play set area. So if these are meant to represent the equipment then they should be titled as such.
You can certainly use the help bubble to request the move and maybe a title change too.

Please be aware the team will place the pin where they judge to be most appropriate.

Thank you! I have reached out to them via chat. To your point on the red arrow, this was something I reached out to them about yesterday and has already been resolved  . Will try to get the blue one in a safer location as well.

Thats good to know
