So I’ve recently moved to egypt and later on started playing pokemon go again after stopping for 3-4 years, I’ve noticed that there are almost no poke stops anywhere, I travel alot from one place to another and there are almost no poke stops because of the low number of players, and because of the low number of players even fewer poke stops are being reviewed by anyone so is there anything to do or take initiative on?

The simple solution is to submit eligible things to be wayspots. The more local players hunting for things and submitting them, the quicker you will get new features appearing in Pokemon Go. It can be quite fun adding things
If you end up with a lot of things in the queue and reviewing time takes more than a few months, you could ask on this forum if people are willing to set their bonus location to this area.
Make sure you are reviewing yourself, as well. This will help get other nominations cleared, earn you upgrades to send your nominations to a wider review pool, and give you an idea of how much there is in the review queue to give an idea of the volume to others who might be willing to set their bonus area there.
Currently I have about 7 poke stops in queue, since my passion for the game is back I am trying to submit as much poke stops as I can.
I’ve started with my area first and then I started submitting things a bit more far to try to cover a decent part of my city, I tried to build a community where other people can do the same until we cover the whole map

You are doing the best thing, maybe when others see new wayspots appearing they will want to join in and you have then created a pokemon community.
Just a couple of comments…
Make sure you are nominating wayspots that meet criteria and check all the data you include. You don’t want rejections because you accidentally misplaced or the main image shows identifiable people etc and you don’t want to clog up the system with nominations that are never going to pass.
As you have stated “Poke stops” a few times this is just a reminder that you are actually nominating a Wayspot that if accepted will be placed in a database. Pokemon Go then has rules on which will be used in game. Don’t want you disappointed if you get an acceptance but it doesn’t make it in to the game.

Post details of something you plan to submit in to “Nomination Support”. Long time Wayfarers will advise whether it is “Good to go”, “could be improved by…” or “Doesn’t meet criteria, don’t waste you time”.

You could also post in “Nomination Support” the general location (DO NOT USE YOUR HOME ADDRESS) and people will scour the maps and make suggestions.
