Good afternoon Wayfarer community. I am only brand new to the Wayfarer side of this Pokemon Go. I would like to understand how S2 cells actually work and how locations work when placing nominations, as I am currently mapping out my rural community to nominate new locations, as my community hasn’t been touched by a Wayfarer reviewer for over five years. With one or two occasions being on sports fields, I have come across a couple of situations where I am confused and would like information so I can possibly understand what is happening before I nominate new locations. As I said, my community hasn’t been touched by a reviewer for over half the age of the game itself, with 99% of my stops in my community over five years old. Recently trying to understand S2 maps and how they work, I had come across locations that have multiple stops in the same S2 cell, so how does this come about, as one PokeStop per S2 cell is the current rule and I’ve never known any other rule besides this one? Any other nominations are instantly blocked. May I ask why there are two locations within the same location on the fields where the new nomination was submitted? The location has one five-year-old nomination and a nomination less than 6 months old in the same S2 cell. May I ask why it wasn’t blocked? Should each area be moved or reported? And if somehow they are allowed to stay in the same cells, do they classify towards the next gym trigger? I would also like information on how a super mega raid is able to be created, how PokeStops are nominated, and would like to understand why stops move from a neighboring S2 cell back into blocking them. I would also love information on edits for locations on several locations in my community, as markers are not accurately pinned on the POI’s location. As we can only move it 10 meters, if a POI’s location is more than 10 meters, do I have to get it removed and re-nominate it to get it to its right location? Most of my POI locations are green council community reserve signs with its name, but when you click on it, it doesn’t give you a description or a photo. Why is that the case when we have to upload photos for supporting information? Could anyone give me proper information regarding these situations, as I have sought some information from AI but it doesn’t make any type of sense? I do not know any bugs or anything about nominations or how routes or anything used to work before 2026. I would love to expand my knowledge on those exact inquiries and any other thing that you would think would benefit my rural community group I run, so I can help my community be able to nominate stops without having a whole bunch of problems to worry about. Also, I would love down the line to become a Pokemon community ambassador but know nothing about how I would source to become one or information I must know before becoming one. I am a very social kid and love to be outdoors and around people. If I become one, what other benefits could my community receive from maybe becoming one and is it a good idea to become one or not really? I would love any information that you help me become one community ambassador down the line and expand my knowledge and be able to review nominations properly without being on the wrong outcome of the decision and possibly ruining a community in a rural area has nominations. Has been a rural member myself, I understand we do not have paved walkways on a laser strip. The best we are going to get for a park location would be an alleyway connecting into a park or a reserve, or the walking trail walkway along the reserves. It’s so one of my main problems and I’m going to have to try to be able to figure out a fix for is, I have multiple learning disabilities and don’t fully understand situations the best. So any information, even the tiniest little bit, is going to help me understand in my own way exactly why or how this or that happens from within my adventure. I would also love to hear any feedback you guys could give to help me become the best Wayfarer I could be. I look forward to reading all your responses, and I will try my best to reply to everyone. Just a warning to Wayfarers now before they provide information, I will be extremely slow to reply because of that exact reason. I have to make sure what I have said is all correct and makes sense without going off the topic or for years to not be able to understand at all. I do apologize in advance if I have confused anyone so far with any of my questions or anything I have asked about, and thank you in advance for understanding my situation and still deciding to help me understand

Hi,

I must admit that I couldn’t finish your wall of text.

So just some general advice:

- what you see in-game currently are often “legacy stops/ legacy cells” that would no longer be eligible today, but also don’t meet removal criteria
- location edits over 10m can be done via Help Chat on the Wayfarer website
- It used to be possible to get two active pokethings in one cell because of that. It’s no longer supposed to happen today
- Wayfarer and Pokemon Go are two different things. Being a Pogo ambassador doesn’t have much to do with wayfarer

Walking into our community firstly I can only give you information I have sourced through text discussions I have quickly read through basically for a dynamax stop to become an in-game stop it must be 22 meters away from the in-game stop or gym as for the double stops in the same cell I’m still trying to figure this out myself but I believe it has something to do with an older nomination being abused by an old bug and not having a density check but all new nominations automatically trigger a cell density if it’s landing in a occupied cell it will be blocked if it is less than location being anything more than 22 meters will give you a dynamax stop I have free different locations like your location that have multiple stops in the same s17 so free to the in fact with each stop having a new nomination that is a six months or less out and I stop that is five years older or more with each location having a stop and a gym in the same cell I don’t know this happens or anything but I believe this is called a legacy stop if I am incorrect one of the wifey their team members that have been around for a while we’ll let you know as for anything else you ever acquiring I am not sure that myself and would love to learn review I have to say that is an amazing question to ask for your first time posting in our community

Ive noticed Every single time a legacy stop was added to my community this year, it happened because of a location change, not an edit. Here is exactly what happens:The Duplicate Rule: If you pin a nomination directly on top of an older stop, it gets blocked as a duplicate. The Accurate Pin: But if you do a map sweep and create a location change to pin the legacy object accurately—just slightly away from the old stop—the system treats them as separate objects. The Activation: Because these locations are very old, making a location change seems to bypass the new density rules. The map forces a recalculation sweep, and the old legacy stop suddenly comes to life.I checked my map today and a third stop just went live last week using this exact same pattern! They are staying alive in the same cell. I’m not 100% sure on if that is the reason why but every time I have noticed one in my area and checked my pogo map S2 map the older location was moved into the new nomination cell staying alive today I address this to my antique as this may be a new bug for older nomination location edits or is my theory inconclusive I’ve noticed a lot of posting about as 17 cells and double pokey stops being in the same cell a few times this year. Put this be a new development bug niantic don’t know about is anyone experiencing the same experience I am

Thanks for letting me know they the Ambassadors on here are different to Ambassadors in Pokemon go also thanks for informing me and it locations over 10 meters are possible without having to remove the poi that makes a heat more sense because I was wondering like why do I have to remove it just the nominated again over 10 meters. Also good my five year nominations changed to a legacy stop if a location added was successfully made to penet to its right location if a nominational was already in that cell already and I’m not uploading my nominations until like fully understand criteria and read through the list I’m still only halfway through so it may be a a little while before my nominations get into voting as I have to double check my spelling and make sure it makes sense as I don’t want it to be denied instantly for a spelling the state or not a hearing to the description and supporting information thanks for your apply I do understand the wall of text is a bit nerve-racking to look at trust me it was no racking writing it

I won’t be able to tell you anything about it as I didn’t even know it could have happened until I’ve done a walk around town refreshing my S2 map when I was pinning pois that I can upload from what I have already read through the criteria list that met criteria is I’m still learning how to use everything and wasn’t paying attention to my nominations that are already in town as I was going to update photos for the whole lot anyways just in case some they have the newer photos and the able to prove which ones are no longer real life plies so I can report them to meet criteria before uploading any of my stops as I didn’t know if that affects the outcome of the nomination within that S14 so I thought the best idea was just too photograph all of them had a photo that way it goes through photo editing and if I had missed a criteria that people can market as not meeting criteria if that is how it works once I have done that then I was going to start nominating my nominations could give me advice on what I shouldn’t do if I should start uploading nominations while doing photo edits or or check criterias and photo edits first then upload nominations

I’m unable to provide information as I am from a town that has nominations that come and go constantly with people’s reveals with my community only having five older stops older than five years old if my theory is right you may or may not be sitting on a gold minefield right about now with your older nominations but don’t take my information as 100% because I’m still only learning myself I’m going to leave my thoughts with the community and touch base later on to see if they have the same outcome

</div>

In that case I might hold my nominations and wait for an advice as I don’t want to lose my account for manipulating cell rules the only thing is I’ll just have to continue playing in the opposite town to my community as we only have a few stops and as always the time walking around for that amount when over town you can have 20 nominations in the same S14 boundary if my older nominations are only going to manipulate gameplay it’s unfair and I will decide I will remove them and immediately as I reckoned every area should be the same to equalize gameplay but unfortunately some areas and some people don’t have the same opinion as what I do thanks you for sharing your input

I also have trouble reading your posts.

Staff do not acknowledge S2 cell algorithms. They won’t remove game locations for not following the S2 cell rules the community has discovered. It seems like you are familiar with these, but just in case, I will link this article. [A Comprehensive Guide to S2 Cells and Pokémon GO | Pokémon GO Hub](https://pokemongohub.net/post/article/comprehensive-guide-s2-cells-pokemon-go/)

In the past, edits worked differently than they do now. When a game location was edited, it would not revert game status. That is how you may have some L17 S2 cells with more than one game location. You cannot force that to happen now, but sometimes a glitch will allow this situation to remain, usually temporarily. They do both appear to count towards the algorithm for the next gym when this happens, as do sponsored locations, which can also exist in the same L17 S2 cell as another.

Super Mega Raid locations have nothing to do with Wayfarer. I don’t think the community has figured out what triggers those yet, but it may be the most visited gyms. We aren’t sure.

If the correct location is too far to edit in game, you can use Help Chat at [https://wayfarer.scopely.com/new/help](https://wayfarer.scopely.com/new/help) where a chat box will pop up. When you tap it, a bot will take information and you can make the request.

 ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/wayfarer/original/3X/4/3/435f31fe16cab4c0e121cb4c282b6d67796c581b.jpeg)
A human will get back to you. They reply in the chat box, not by email, even though they ask for your email to verify the account. You may want to make a note of the ticket number in case your browser loses the chat history. If it is not clearly an obvious correction on Maps, you can provide extra evidence, such as location tagged photos, or video.

Never mispin something to put it in an empty cell. This is abuse that can get you banned from your game as well as Wayfarer.

Wayfarer is separate from Pokemon Go. You may be able to find answers to some of your Pokemon Go questions at [Pokémon GO — Niantic Technical Support and Help Center](https://niantic.helpshift.com/hc/en/6-pokemon-go/)

The only other question I really had was how showcase stops how are they determined and are there any limits to how many per S2 cell if so what level determines this.

If moving a inaccurate pinned location for the oldest stops back to The overworld location and it triggers a legacy spot to be placed will I face any account bans form manipulating cell density or is that only if I was to try move a real life location in-game to a different spot to create one or would the best option be reporting them all and getting them removed and then uploading them as new locations.

the only reason why I’m asking is I do not want to face any type of bands or punishments for doing something I didn’t understand fully. I understand I can only move stop that aren’t actually at the right location

If you submit a location edit because the current location is incorrect and you are proposing an accurate location, you will not get any account ban.

If a wayspot is at the correct location and you are trying to move it to an incorrect location, you risk both your wayfarer and game accounts.

Regarding showcases, I am not sure anyone knows how they get picked. They certainly don’t change very often! (That has only happened once).

We don’t really know the answer to this. But it seems to be very rare for them to promote showcase stops. They have only ever done this twice. There seems to be at most 1 in an L14 S2 cell. For the ones I know about personally, they had the most votes on photos in their L14 S2 cell. Showcase Pokestops will not be promoted to gyms.

You will never get a punishment for moving a Wayspot to its correct location in the real world.

If you have a lot of corrections to make in the same area, you may want to use a reporting form instead of help chat. This form lets you explain the issue and send evidence:

> **[Request modification or removal of a PokéStop or Gym — Pokémon GO](https://pokemongo.com/report-location)**

The options on that form don’t match up to what I want to do most of the time, but we have been told to just pick anything, then explain the issue in the text box. Don’t reply to the acknowledgement email, even if it asks for your credentials as property owner. A team member will respond and that email will begin with their name. you can respond to that one.
