This may have been here before, but it doesn’t seem to have been here for a long time. A lot of the “Lost Rockville“ series signs were retired in the past 10 years.
The POI pin places it on the south side of the district court building, but looking across 8 years of historic Google Street View (2012, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2022, and 2024), I can’t find it where suggested.
The last photo added to the POI was from 8 years ago (2018).
Hello, @FamousPigeon! Due to insufficient evidence, we’re unable to remove the Wayspot in question. If you have additional evidence to share, such as geotagged images or 360° videos, please write back to us or submit a new appeal with the additional information, and we’ll take another look.
It’s on the other side of the road and has been replaced with a new information board, but older streetview shows this is where it always was, along with the boundary stone embedded in the ground below.
It’s mislocated, and since it was submitted in 2013, it’s quite likely that this was deliberate in order to get an extra portal in Ingress.
If you live near there, you could submit a location edit in Pokemon Go, otherwise use help chat from Niantic Wayfarer
Wow! I feel like a huge dummy. I walked around the perimeter of that building to the north looking for it and found nothing (it used to be the city library and I assumed it was one of the info boards they had around it). No pgo option to edit this since that move is over 20 meters, that’s a help chat request or it looks like I could upload additional evidence here if I’m reading ScopelyExpLC reply correctly.
Salixsorbus is correct, it looks like the POI was originally mislocated and the original board replaced with a different one.

@ScopelyExpLC, since the physical POI was removed and replaced, what’s the best way of handling this?
We could relocate the current POI and I could submit title and description edits with a new photo to align the POI with what’s actually there now.
Or if it’s easier, I have a draft Wayspot submission with a current photo, title, and description of the information board at that location sitting in draft ready to submit and we could retire the current POI. (I propose this because I know when moving an active pgo poi next to another pgo poi weird things happen when they get too close and “The Eternal Flame” 39.082029, -77.151738 is really close to the correct location).
