Invalid Wayspot Appeal: Multiple Blatant Location Manipulations in Residential Complex

Wayspot Name 1: Rock Climbing for Kids
**Location Coordinates:**20.370079, 85.834335

Issue: Location Manipulation / Fraudulent Placement
Description: The cover photo for this wayspot shows a ground-level children’s play installation set in a sand pit. However, the pin has been intentionally manipulated and placed directly on the concrete roof structure of a multi-story high-rise residential building block. There is no pedestrian access to a sand-pit play area on a residential rooftop. Please remove this fake location.

Wayspot Name 2: Badminton Court
Location Coordinates: 20.369086, 85.834661

Issue: Does Not Exist / No Pedestrian Access
Description: The photo depicts a fully paved, blue asphalt sports court surface. In reality, the coordinates point directly inside a landlocked, unpaved dirt clearing surrounded by dense, wild overgrown brush with zero pedestrian access. No sports infrastructure exists at this location. This is a completely fabricated placement. Please remove.

Wayspot Name: Park

  • Location Coordinates: (20.365673, 85.834464)

  • Issue: Location Manipulation / Rooftop Placement
  • Description: The cover photo shows a ground-level community park lawn with outdoor fitness benches. The pin has been intentionally manipulated onto the concrete roof and private balcony edge of the same multi-story residential tower block. No park lawn infrastructure exists on top of this building structure. Please remove.

Wayspot Name: Children’s Play Area

  • Location Coordinates: `(20.365610, 85.835122)

  • Issue: Location Manipulation / Rooftop Placement
  • Description: The photo features a playground built on a bright red, orange, and yellow safety mat. While the actual colorful mat footprint is clearly visible out in the open courtyard on the satellite layer, the pin has been dragged west directly onto the roof edge of the adjacent residential building tower block. Please remove or adjust this manipulated pin

Note:there’s a littany of other pins i want to bring up too , but these very severe outright rulebreaking ones should be fixed first

Welcome to the forum

If you have already reported these and the removal reports were rejected, you need to include a screenshot of the rejection email. I strongly recommend keeping each wayspot as a separate post, but you can use a single thread if you want. It gets hard to separate the wayspots otherwise.

If you have not reported these yet, you must do this as this appeal will not get actioned by Scopely Explore. You can use the wayfarer map at Niantic Wayfarer. If the removal reports are rejected, then you can post here in Wayspot Appeals.

Is that not the court in question?

The other locations seem to have been adjusted, except for the climbing wall

Nope does not exist

Try going onto the map and checking the satellite projection and comparing it with this
You can see the pool , and the playground. But the other playground(will add onto post) and badminton court are non existent. Apt name is mani tribhuvan

A more recent one. The playground is near the left but there , but there is no badminton court between the pool and the amphitheatre

It would be to the right of the image you posted

It definitely exists

The climbing wall could easily be at ground level, since the location of the wayspot is not necessarily on top of the building. An object at ground level and on top of a multi-level building can have the same coordinates, since eastings and westings are height-independent.

This appears to have been removed

This appears to have moved as requested.

This remains as a wayspot since it exists (as indicated by @wooperIooper)

Oh I’m so sorry you’re right , it looked very unclear in the satellite images and even from the pics I was seeing i couldn’t really find out, that is entirely on me. Thank you for the clarification

Badminton court exists, i checked the amenities list but this rock climbing wall definitely doesn’t. It’s not on the amenities list , nor on ant of the pictures given in Google. Very unlikely

All I am saying is that your description of it not existing at the top of the building has no value as proof, since it could be at the bottom and still be where that wayspot is.

You need to provide proof of it not existing. Not being on the google pictures is not sufficient, as these are not comprehensive. Not being on the amenities list is a starter. Best would be footage of the location where it is supposed to be, but since it could be misplaced, even this wouldn’t be enough.

Wait so it’s fine even if it looks like there’s nothing but a rooftop there but something at the ground level?sounds rather disingenuous to me , like easily abusable. I could do one thing and go to the base location and take a pic , it’s not very far but I’ll have to see about that. I thought it being not mentioned anywhere , neither on photos , nor on the amenities list , and the location being a rooftop would be grounds for termination

It would not be fair to remove something due to 1 person saying “I can’t find it”.

Do you know anybody there that you could ask whether they have a climbing wall or have they ever had a climbing wall.

Problem is you would need to show evidence that i is not at “any” possible location if chance on multiple floors.

Otherwise, if it is there but mis-located you would need to show evidence where it is and do a location edit not a removal.

A spot might appear to be “on the rooftop” on a satellite view but actually be under that rooftop (inside the building), attached to the exterior wall of the building, or outside and slightly misplaced.

There is nothing in the coordinates to indicate altitude. A stop representing an indoor artwork on the third floor of a building, for example, could show up just like that “rooftop” one you are referring to. I was once staying in a hotel which had a stop representing an artwork mounted inside a ground floor restaurant space, almost directly below my room…

Additionally, I will note that the satellite view in this particular case is tilted. So a stop could be on the ground beside the building, and be blocked on the satellite view by the building because the satellite image was taken at an angle.

This is why I don’t go hunting online for wayspots to report - every wayspot I have ever reported for removal is within 30 km from my home and are properties I have personally visited.
