Invalid Wayspot Appeal - Ram Temple (Fake/Non-Existent Location)

When submitting a Wayspot Appeal, make sure to include as much of the following information as possible:

  • Wayspot Title: Shri Ram Temple

  • Location (lat/lon): 28.983934,77.150262

  • City:sonipat

  • Country:india

  • Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information):

  • Additional Information (if any):Update / Clarification on Safety & Pedestrian Access:
While historical imagery may show a past structure, this temple has since been demolished/modified and no longer exists at this location.
Most critically, this Wayspot violates core Niantic criteria due to lack of safe pedestrian access-
*Direct Highway Location: The pin is situated immediately alongside a high-speed highway barrier.
*No Pedestrian Infrastructure: There are no sidewalks, footpaths, marked pedestrian crossings, or safe walkways leading to or surrounding the location.
*Safety Hazard:Interacting with this Wayspot forces players to stand directly on an active, high-traffic road shoulder.
Under Niantic’s criteria for Unsafe/No Pedestrian Access, please permanently retire this Wayspot

New:- i would like to withdraw my appeal cuz i am a college student so i didn’t knew this place infrastructure so i reported it for wrong photo although i still think that highway point should be considered .

I do see a temple at this location in streetview

Welcome to the forum!

There appear to have been some changes in color and surroundings, but the basics of the building match what is on street view here:

You will need to present evidence for the team that the temple is not here in order for them to remove it. I want to be clear that I am not staff to make a decision on this.

The Wayspot here does not have the title you mentioned, so maybe is different?

Streetview confirms that this temple exists at this location. Unsurprisingly, this is a gym.

Streetview 2022:

Streetview May 2026:

The stuff to the sides of the wayspot photo are strange, but that photo is from 4 years before the first streetview image, so it is very plausible that the landscape was slightly different.

The title and coordinates are appearing differently for me compared to others for some reason. The staff seems to have changed the title and adjusted the location to better represent the POI.

That’s correct. We have made necessary changes to this Wayspot and it doesn’t currently meet our requirements for removal.

But it still violates niantic core criteria of safe access as it is directly connected to a highway which can be very dangerous.

I submitted a report on wayfarer regarding the temple being on wrong location in map and with wrong name so they moved it to nearest temple ,also this gym is on a highway road so this is not safe for pedestrians to access .

This gym is near the highway area so it is very risky for pedestrians to access it and can cause life threating injuries if any mistake happens.

This gym is on the highway so it is not safe for pedestrians to access it violating niantic rules so it should be removed.

Based on Street View, the structure of the temple matches the photo. Also I didn’t notice this before but the correct title for this Wayspot should be Shiva Temple rather than Vaishno Temple. The temple situated directly to the right is the Vaishno Mandir.

Staff has already corrected the location by moving the pin from the highway to the temple building.

Being near to a road does not make a wayspot dangerous. If this was the case, then lots of pavements across the world would be too dangerous for people to walk on them.

I see that you’ve been very succesful in adding a lot of stops in the neighbourhood (at the technology institute).

But please be careful, trying to remove a gym for game purposes can be seen as abuse, and may result in penalties, so my advice is to step away. There was a decision, just let this one go.

To be clear, I don’t know your intentions, but people may get the wrong impression, so better safe than sorry
