  • Additional Information (if any):

    Hello everyone,

Today, the following Wayspot was removed from the game: Kulturdenkmal Fachwerkhaus obergasse 2.

I honestly do not understand why this happened. This is an official historic building that is strictly registered and protected under the Hessian cultural heritage law (Hessischer Denkmalschutz). DenkXweb - Detailansicht It is a permanent, unique landmark with safe pedestrian access, which fully complies with all Wayfarer criteria.

I strongly suspect this removal is the result of malicious false reporting. For weeks, our local community has been targeted by a group of aggressive spoofers. They constantly kick local players out of all gyms in the village within a single minute, even though the gyms are over 800 meters apart. I have screenshots proving this impossible physical movement. It seems they are now weaponizing the report system to ruin the game for local players by removing our historic Wayspots.

Could someone from the Niantic team please look into this case, review the invalid report, and restore this valid historical location?
Because we had two accepted Wayspots in this specific S2 cell, a new PokéStop has automatically spawned to replace the removed one. However, we are deeply concerned that these spoofers will continue weaponizing the report system to get even more of our valid local Wayspots deleted just to ruin the game for us

Thank you for your time and assistance.

Here is a screenshot of the house from the official Hessian cultural heritage website

It’s possible that this was reported for being SFPRP (single family private residential property).

Historic houses can still be SFPRP. Do you have evidence that no-one lives here and that it is solely a piece of culture preserved for society (with no ongoing use - it doesn’t appear to be used as on office or tourist destination)?

I live on this exact street and nobody has lived in that building for years. What kind of proof do you actually need? I have already posted a link and a screenshot proving that it is an official cultural heritage site of the state.

The only explanation is that the spoofers, who have been harassing our entire community, reported it out of spite. They constantly kick everyone out of the gyms—within a single minute, they place their Pokémon in three different gyms that are about 800 meters apart from each other. They are doing this simply to ruin the fun for the local community, though I have no idea what their motivation is

Anyone anywhere in the world can report a Wayspot from the map. If I see something I am convinced is SFPRP on the nearby while I am reviewing nominations, I do a report.

Staff will have evidence that a wayspot should be removed. They don’t just remove because they get a report. Concentrate your appeal on proving this meets criteria instead of theories about who removed it.

You do not need to respond to anyone here except staff. They will decide. They are clearly identified by their server names. Anyone else posting is just showing you what you may need to overcome for the appeal.

So you just randomly processed the removal based solely on the photo? When a Wayspot is reported, doesn’t the support team see the descriptions and links associated with it? The link from the German government proving this is an official cultural heritage site is right there. Does this mean anyone can just report any building, claim someone lives there, and it gets accepted without question? As I said, I live on this exact street, and the house is abandoned—nobody lives there. Shouldn’t the person reporting it provide evidence, rather than me having to prove it stands? My question remains: what specific evidence do you need from me?

Furthermore, we have spoofers in our village jumping between gyms within a single minute, even though the gyms are 800 meters apart one is even behind a sports field and completely inaccessible by car. My brother and I both reported this account, providing exact timestamps so support could check the logs, but absolutely nothing has happened so far and they are still playing. And as I said, they are trying to ruin the game in our village for everyone by deliberately blocking players from getting their daily Pokécoins. That is exactly why we believe they are weaponizing the report system to delete our Wayspots.

i can upload screens with time as a proof… 50.417077, 8.283728 this gym she was since 9min 50.413792, 8.285811 this one since 9min 50.415176, 8.289707 this one since 8mins It took them less than a minute to get from one gym to the other, which is physically impossible because one of those gyms can only be reached on foot. Please check the distance between them.

It is annoying and frustrating when things like this happen in game. However it is not something wayfarer can help with. You need to raise with Pokémon Go.

Our normal recommendation is that you include some current photographic evidence that it is where it was placed in game.

You have provided links . you then wait.

The wayfarer team will have had evidence to remove, they will review what you supply to see if there is evidence to restore.

The focus of your posts here is best to be on the validity of the wayspot and leave out other issues.

It seems that you either did not read or understand my comments.

  1. Anyone can file a report from anywhere in the world.
  2. Staff investigates reports before agreeing a Wayspot should be removed.
  3. Staff have evidence this Wayspot should be removed. I don’t know what that is. In your appeal, you should present evidence that this should be restored. At the least, prove this is not a single family private residential property as suggested by @salixsorbus.
  4. Accusations that this was a malicious removal do not belong in your appeal for restoration.
  5. I am not staff to make any kind of decision based on the picture or otherwise. Staff names on the forum begin with either “Niantic” or “ScopelyExp” and have an avatar that makes it clear they are staff.

You were able to find proof that this is rated as historic. You should be able to find proof if it is not single family private residential property and that Google’s ai is wrong:

it was placed at the right place

I know that anyone can submit a report, but it makes very little sense for someone to randomly report a location when they do not even live here and do not know the area, right? Again, I live here and nobody is living in that house. Or does that photo look to you like a place where someone actually lives?

I report Wayspots that should not be on the map when I come across them in reviewing. I have not analyzed this to see if I would have reported it. Everything is in a language I cannot read.

The description is that this house was build in the 18th century.

It is possible that nobody lives there at the moment, but it still looks like the main function is still a private residence. I don’t see any evidence that it currently has another function.

The criteria state that all SFPRP, even historic, are not eligible.

The main purpose of castles, fortresses, and palaces is also residential. Should they all be removed too? There are several other houses in our village that are registered cultural heritage sites, as you can see on the heritage office website. However, people actually live in those, which is why we never submitted them in the first place. I have no idea why this house was even accepted in the beginning if it was going to be treated this way.

Yes, if the main function is still a single family private residence.

A friend of mine actually owns a castle, and lives there, so that castle is not eligible, my aunt used to live in a palace (staff member), but multiple families lived there, so the palace is eligible.

It does look like a single-family residence to me, which was also its historical purpose as per the website

Exactly, that is the whole point. Of course the original purpose of the building was a single-family house, nobody is denying that. But the SFPRP rule was created to protect the privacy of actual residents and prevent players from trespassing on someone’s active private property. Since this house is completely vacant and abandoned, there is no active residential function and no privacy to violate. The SFPRP criteria do not apply here because it is a protected, empty monument…

You have added the word “active”. That is not in the clarification.

If you strictly apply that logic without any common sense, then thousands of castles, palaces, and historic fortresses all over Europe would have to be removed immediately.
