Over the past weeks, a very large number of long-established PokéStops and Gyms have disappeared in Märstetten, Switzerland.
This affects several different areas of the village, particularly around Märstetten railway station and the surrounding residential areas. Some of these PokéStops and Gyms had existed for years and were frequently used.
For example, one of my regular Pokémon GO routes of approximately 2 km previously passed around 8–9 PokéStops and Gyms. Only about 2–3 of them remain. Several PokéStops around Märstetten railway station have also disappeared.
The affected Wayspots included fountains, signs and other permanent objects. Some Gyms and Power Spots have disappeared as well.
Could you please check whether there has been a larger removal, map update or technical issue affecting Märstetten and explain why so many existing game locations disappeared at the same time?
I doubt there is any kind of technical problem on the scale you are describing and it doesn’t sound initially like a property owner request.
If you are looking to restore the wayspots you will need to provide current photos of the objects and include the object in its surroundings.
You should ensure these are geotagged to confirm date and location.
