Wayfarer is about waypoints. Points of interest in the real world, and the pin should reflect that position.

Games like Pokemon Go have their own inclusion rules.

When a wayspot is moved to their correct location, it means that it was incorrect all the time, and shouldn’t have been included in the game at all. But perhaps it will become a powerspot soon.

When the new location is factually incorrect, you can ask for a move or make an appeal.

It’s the challenge to find more wayspots, and sometimes reserve wayspots / additional points of interest, in case a move happens, or a wayspot is retired. In those cases, there will still be cell coverage.

Misplacing for game manipulation is abuse.

Would you like to give us the gps coordinates so we can see the point of interest on the map to better assess the situation?

I’m not sure why or if rules should be relaxed.

A pin should represents the waypoint. And it’s placed at the correct location; and if there is a bettter location, then it should get a move suggestion.

When a user makes a move request, it gives the opportunity to the community to vote what they think is the best location. And it appears that the majority of voters think that the new location represents the best. It’s not that a single user decides; its the community who approves the suggestion.

There is no ownership of a certain waypoint. A user makes a suggestion for a new wayspot, and the community (or Scopely) decides if they agree with this suggestion. When approved, it’s in the general database; there is no work or ownership on that specific waypoint by a user.

IMO: The “Rule” that already correct locations should not be moved even to a similar correct location is to stop “location wars”.

Someone thinks its better on the western edge as he can reach it from home, someone else believes it should be on the eastern edge as he can reach from home. It then goes back and forth.

If it’s in a correct location leave it alone.

We have seen posts where people have done a location edit from correct to correct be deemed as Abuse as it is seen as manipulating the game map.

No.

Wayspot edits to correct the location should be done without any regard to Pokemon Go. the accuracy of the wayspot location has nothing to do with how any game uses it.

You wanted an opinion. It is difficult to give an opinion without seeing the exact situation.

Wayfarer is not Pokemon Go. If the Wayspot should not exist, or exists in the wrong place, it should be corrected regardless of how that affects Pokemon Go.

I do wish that everyone who has access to Wayfarer had better education on all aspects of Wayfarer, including how S2 cell algorithms are used, but since those are not officially acknowledged, that is not going to happen. I am grateful that they allow us to explain these observations on the forum.

RIP Gaston Lagaffe
