Pinning Wayspots to put them in an empty cell is abuse Niantic takes very seriously. Seeing many bans for this. I don’t see the point of interest to comment on whether or not this was done in this case, but don’t do it yourself.
Niantic does not officially acknowledge the S2 cell stuff. I am grateful that they are allowing us to explain on this forum. It is so frustrating when all they say is “too close” and folks know they have seen closer pokestops/gyms. I think it is better when they say “density rules.”

Hi all , does this mean for me to take a photo of where the pokestop is currently in game or where it should be ?
They need geotagged photos of the actual point of interest.
They usually ask me to take at least one from the same vantage point as the Wayspot photo, then I try to go around it taking more for a full picture of where it actually is.
Thankyou very much , the page I had open with the chat refreshes itself so I lost the whole chat , however before I did I sent off the geo photos so will they be able to do it just from that ?

The other thread have been opened by Elli to support you with other potential wayspot candidates (help with nominations Otterton).
They should be able to see them. However, you won’t be able to see a response from them if there was some issue with upload, or if they made a decision yet.
I would give it those 5 business days they mentioned, and if you don’t see any change by then, you can fill out that form to start an email chain. You can let them know that you had already started a help chat ticket but were not able to see the response.

Many people here use an app called “GPSCameraApp”, this adds the GPS Data on to the actual photo.
As @cyndiepooh states I would take 1 image of the actual POI and 1 where you mistakenly pinned it. Show both wrong and right.
Your nomination may…
- become a Powerspot (Dynamax / Gigantamax) depending on its proximity to other waypoints.
- replace the existing waypoint if that is removed for legitimate reasons. ***
- be used in other Scopely games.
***Do Not attempt to get a legitimate wayspot removed just to get yours on to the map. This is seen as Abuse and can lead to suspension / bans of all accounts (Wayfarer, Pokemon Go and any other Scopely games).
To be clear, there has been no statement from Niantic that apps that put these coordinates on the photo are considered geo tagged. The location data is imbedded in the photo if you have that feature turned on.
I do not use one of these apps. I could see it could be useful if you want to check for yourself what location info your photo is showing. The only external tool that Niantic has ever recommended is this one, and I have never used this either: Leveling Up Your Appeals and Removal Reports
I have had several location edits that where originally refused due to lack of evidence accepted after using this app so even if they have never made a statement my experience (plus others from the forums) shows that Niantic do accept these as evidence.

It is true that if all the other Wayspots in the L17 were removed from the game that this one would be eligible to appear in that case, but please don’t think you are being accused of trying to do that.
I have added this note on several occasions, it is only meant to give a simple note on the thread to show that the “missing” waypoint is not wasted. It could be useful even if it isn’t going to be a stop / gym as the OPs hoped.
This is why it states “Do Not attempt…” , if I was accusing anybody that they had already done this then I would have said.

I think the comments I made in a different thread and explained much better and more thoroughly in this post explain what may have happened in cases like you’re describing.
I am really averse to encouraging people download separate apps and setting up the atmosphere here that it’s in some way a better or definitive solution when supporting style photos are typically far more useful.
Of course, we both know we’re all trying to be as helpful as we can. We don’t need more back and forth about it.
They have removed the pokestop but not placed it anywhere else ? Why is that ?
