Misplaced nomination

Hi, I have been busy lately nominating stops for my local community, and just got 1 accepted, but realize that I misplaced it by about 50cm in terms of the S2 cell, meaning it will never become a pokestop. (That area already has more than enough powerstops…) Technically the 50cm to the right would have been the most correct location as its now not directory over the entrance as its suppose to be based on the requirements. I have now learned to use the IITC app (I know its no longer syncing from PoGo, but I can atleast use the addon and add the coordinates to see the cells etc), to verify that my future stops will be ok.

I live in a smaller town in Norway, and we have trouble as it is nominating pokestops, and then I make such a noob mistake. Sadly there is absolutely nothing else in that cell that can be nominated as a stop meaning that we will never be able to have a pokestop here, and also its likely we will never be able to hit 3 gyms in the bigger cell as we have scouvered the area, and is struggling to find anything that is worthy of a pokestop.

I assume there is nothing to be done, and I have a lost case, but I just wanted to check here just in case.

The stop name is: Kirkens Bymisjon Sarpsborg

Do you have the GPS Co-ords from the email you received when you nominated?

At 50 cms It seems that the current location would be deemed correct and moving it could be seen as trying to game the board, so be careful.

Good luck.

It probably will be deemed correct, as ofcourse 50cm is not much (might actually even be less, just an guestimate based on the IITC app and the coordinates) , meaning it was such a bad mistake by me placing it wrong, I was sloppy when I did the nomination, its all on me and I have to own it.

I have no interesting gaming the board, but we just wanted to have a new pokestop in this location as its a popular area, and now I basically have destroyed the opportunity for all other players in the area… I feel really bad for making this mistake for my community (I am not that much in this area myself, but alot of other players I know are). As I intially wrote I assume there is nothing to be done, but I just wanted to check…

The orginal coordinates is 59.282672, 11.120072, more correct coordinates would be 59.28268, 11.120112. See images below, first is orignal, second is the correct one. But again, I admit its my mistake, I assume its a lost cause, I Just wanted to check just in case, again I have no interest in gaming the system/board here.

I agree that submitting a location edit may be seen as trying to manipulate the game. This is so frustrating when this happens, and I am grateful to the team for allowing us to explain about S2 cells on the forum, even though it seems like staff cannot.

Is there anything interior to the building that could be eligible?

The good news is that based on what I can see from iitc, this location should be eligible to become a power spot, whenever the next sync of those happens. I know some communities are desperate for power spots.

and since I don’t understand those Google Labels to see if anything else is eligible but he will, I am tagging @Trollfarer

There is already several powerspots in this area, so it was not needed sadly. The area was much more in need of a pokestop and possible a future gym. As the stop will never be accepted as a pokestop i don’t see a way to do any location edit as you mention anyways, as there is no stop to edit, and once its turned into a Powerspot and it was up when i was in the area, and even if i where to request a move and the very unlikely chance it would be accepted, I assume that would still just move the powerspot. I would atleast not assume that it then suddenly would be magically transformed from a powerspot to a pokestop. I also read someone on another thread mentioning the help chat, but it specifically states moving more than 20 meters, so that is automatically out of the question then. I just calculated based on coords and its about 2.5-3 meters actually, less to the edge of the cell, but to place it correctly then it would be about 3 meters.

So I guess I just to accept that i made a terrible mistake.

A location correction edit of any distance can be requested through help chat at Niantic Wayfarer when you can’t do the edit in game for any distance, despite what it says.

I wouldn’t in this case, the conclusion you have already come to, unless there is overwhelming evidence that the new location you would suggest is a better representation of the Wayspot.
