Hello Wayfarer Support Team,

I am requesting the restoration of two highly valid recreational Wayspots that were approved by the community, went live in-game for roughly two weeks, and were subsequently removed in error.

Both locations represent an open, public, municipal sporting amenity heavily promoted by the local council:

  1. The Entrance Sign (-32.554280, 151.155277): This is the permanent, official metal archway council sign greeting visitors at the park entrance perimeter. It is safely positioned on public grass property with absolute pedestrian walkway clearance.
  2. The BMX Course (-32.554445, 151.155894): This is the physical dirt jump and skills pump track located safely away from the main road boundaries.

Both criteria inherently promote outdoor athletic exercise, exploration, and safe community sport. They do not cross onto single-family residential properties, do not block emergency access ways, and are completely active public park fixtures. Please review the original approval records and reinstate these valid sporting locations to the network database file. Thank you for your time!

Since the other reported removal is now visible, hopefully the same happens here.

I think this has been legitimately removed as a duplicate of Singleton BMX Track

(-32.554402,151.156747)

The sign is a proxy for the track.

This may also be a duplicate. This wayspot exists:

Gowrie park access

(-32.553788,151.155401)

But there is two sign one at each side of the track

This doesn’t mean both signs are eligible separately, as the signs are proxies for the track.

The signs themselves do not meet criteria, they are mostly telling you what you can’t do.

It is only the track that meets criteria and therefor only 1 wayspot.

I don’t understand there are there in the real world though the maps was supposed to represent the real world. So because the sign is there does that mean the track can’t be nominated

But this is a welcome sign not a rule sign

That sign is perfectly suitable but the sign itself does not meet the criteria.

You are never going to ask someone from out of town “Would you like to go visit our sign”. The sign is just a marker to denote the Track. There is only 1 track so that is 1 wayspot.

It’s the same as Church Signs. Nobody is saying “I like to explore church signs, I have no interest in the church”

I wish that opinion was applied more consistently across Wayfarer!

It welcomes you to the track.

The sign does not encourage socialisation, exploration or exercise. The track does this.

Signs are useful when the POI itself is hard to photograph, such as park entrances.

That is the Criteria, if Reviewers are not following the criteria then it should be reported for removal (which is what it looks like happened here).

Thank you for the feedback. However, according to the official Niantic Wayfarer criteria, entry signs are completely valid as separate Wayspots when they serve as distinct park access anchors or when the actual feature is visually obstructed from the main road. The ‘Singleton BMX Track Gowrie Park Sign’ sits directly on the outer perimeter fence along the main road walkway, serving as a primary pedestrian entrance."

Can you link to that clarification?

The Park may be considered large enough to have more than 1 “Main Entrance” worthy of multiple Wayspots.

The Track is 1 item within the park.

As a reviewer, I would not have accepted those rules signs as park entrance signs.

Sometimes, the only anchor for a park entrance is a rules sign. At least these have the name prominently at the top.

These are just rules signs posted at places that people might walk into the park. They are not significant in any way. If there were only one sign in the park and it was this one, I most likely would have accepted. But that is not the case here.

Having been accepted, I don’t think they meet removal criteria.

That’s what I think as they were only approved this month and went live in-game for about 2 weeks than all of a sudden they were removed. I believe they didn’t meet removal criteria but here we are anyways.

Thanks everyone for your help and for taking the time out of your day to help me with this I still don’t fully understand what’s happening as I have a learning disability.

I’ll wait to hear for a admin hopefully they can explain it a bit more.

Thanks for everyone’s time
