First, remove any references to any of the games, like trainers and PoGo, as Wayfarer is separate from any of the games. This could be seen as trying to influence others for votes, so best to not use any game terms, even in the supporting info, to be safe.
Could you please provide the title of this nomination?
The title is Malta M Trail Entrance. I originally thought I had the marker placed on the nomination and not a residents
No, the pin is on a SFPRP, not the trail entrance. Sometimes there could be issues with the location pin, so it’s always best to double-check before submitting. If you do submit, you can also check Contribution Management afterwards to make sure the pin was placed correctly, and if not, withdraw the nomination. Location pins cannot be moved, so you can only withdraw.
Welcome to the forum.
I have to agree with the appeal reviewer. It does not look possible for this trail gate to be at this location on Maps.
And where you put the pin appears to be on single family private residential property.
I do see several Google Maps labels for trailheads, but there is no Street View to help understand where this is.
That said, I have used a gate to represent a trail entrance before. The supporting photo should show the point of interest along with something that will be recognizable on Maps.
Are you submitting a trailhead, or the organization? I would make it clear in the title that you are submitting a trailhead. My description suggestion would be something more along the lines of “Entrance to the M Trail, maintained by name of organization.”
Not having many pokestops does not make a Wayspot meet criteria. The rest of the supporting section does explain how this would meet the criteria for exercise, exploration, and being social all three.
I also agree that noting that a non-profit may maintain these trails isn’t needed, as you should be describing this as a trail entrance, not a non-profit. You can mention that the non-profit maintains them, but don’t make that the main point of the description.
Understood thanks for your time. I will try this again down the road
For any trail, it’s is good to provide reliable citations and a map in the supporting text. Trail markers are often not visible on StreetView but a map helps a lot.
I wouldn’t take anything helpful from alltrails or similar sites. These aren’t official trail maps, but routes that users have uploaded as “hey, try this”. If I saw this in review, I would give it zero value as supporting information.
Helpful maps are official ones, or websites like walkingenglishman (UK) or ldwa (UK) which have become established as reliable sources of trail information.
Thank you for your guidance and input on using a reputable source for mapping this trail. I believe it was established in 2018 if my memory serves me correct. I will look into some government mapping along with local mapping from the non profit group
