Nomination declined

Hi

New on here but curious to how my nomination was declined as it’s not accessible to the public but as per the pictures provided it shows that it’s in a lane which is accessible to anyone. Extra pics from Google maps provided to support this. I agree it’s on private property as it’s the outside of my garden wall/shed but there are numerous stops in the game that are artwork, plaques etc on houses, walls etc that are private property.

Thanks
Matt

It will be one of the reasons. People will probably choose between:

  • On private property (single family household)
  • Home fabricated waypoint to create a spot
  • Not distinct.

In the netherlands, there was an issie with mosaic tiles, which Niantic concluded that it was home fabricated, and as such, didn’t apply to become a wayspot.

I consider this in the same category.

The key thing is single-family private residential property (SFPRP). Anything on that is not allowed. Anything on other private property - apartments, shops, businesses, shopping centres, pubs etc - is OK.

First off, Welcome!

I agree it’s on private property as it’s the outside of my garden wall/shed

This right here would make me reject it on SFPRP (Single Family Private Residential Property) grounds. Since it is attached to your shed, it is a part of your property, which would make it ineligible. Most of the other stuff that gets through the system like this are also ineligible, but the people reviewing them either dont realize it or are trying to push it through the system abusively (NOT saying your submission is abusive). I always think to little free libraries that are technically reachable by a public sidewalk, but since they are placed on someones SFPRP, they are automatically ineligible, no matter how reachable they are.

As well as this, I would also likely reject this on the grounds that it was placed here by the submitter specifically to become a wayspot, which is usually seen as abusive (again, just to reiterate, NOT saying this one is abusive, just want to give you some pointers!). This is not always the case for things like this, but the mewtwo drawing is a red flag for me, especially given its on/attached to private property.

OH, also, one thing i just noticed too, the artwork looks to have your handle on it, which IS a big red flag, and is often reportable since it contains a players information. Your handle will be listed as the submitter for photos in a wayspot, so if it happens to be recognition that you are after, that would be the place to rely on

Thanks for the feedback guys.
