Nomination location

We had a question in the Swedish Wayfarer forum at Facebook regarding locations on this persons wayspots nominations.

in this specific case it’s seems to be shortened version of Uppsala County and Västmanland County? But that is only best guessing on our behalf.

Normally we see the full county name or region, like in my examples from Jönköping County, Sweden, Stockholm County and Rimini-region in Italy.

so the question is, what are the logic behind the locations? Of course there must be some country-specific rules to follow - but in this certain case something in the rules must following some made up ruleset. If county’s in Sweden would have been shortened, they would had followed the County’s respectively alfa-character.

I’m in the UK, I’m seeing a weird three letter abbreviation which could be the town in my submissions, when reviewing I see the normal address.

Yes, abbreviation or just cropped and as you say sometimes City, County or something else.

Guess Google Maps/Open Street Map ruleset might be the answer where they get the location info - but just guessing. Still weird logic behind it

I’ve got one in the U.K. that iI’m clueless about. I’d rather it was blank it’s so annoying :joy:
