Hi! A bit unsure which catogegory this should be in. And this has probably been discussed before but I fail to find it.
I have som questions about apartment buildings. Since these are not single family private residential property it does not make a nomination ineligible for that reason? Which makes for example artwork on the facade ok. If I’m not all wrong, a playground thats closed off by for example a gate is not ineligible for that reason?
But what about things inside apartment buildings, but not inside the apartments? For example artworks in the entrence, corridors, stairwell. It is accessible but only for the people living there. If that makes it ineligible, does it matter if the object can be seen from outside the entrance?
My nominations usually does not get accepted, but I have seen some that has been accepted so I’m trying to find out if they could be different in some way.
If it is mass-produced artwork, it doesn’t fit criteria very well. If it is bespoke and unique, that makes it a lot better - for this, you would usually be able to find a link for the artwork.
A wayspot doesn’t have to be visible from outside, but when it isn’t, it makes it harder to provide it exists at that location.
(The playground that is only accessible to residents is fine. A ‘playground’ that is actually only part of a single-family residence would be ineligible.)
Yeah other criteria must be met of course. But when I have tried like in the entrance of an apartment building they always get denied for being on private property which is not publicly accessible. But then I saw other get approved and started thinking…
But the nomination being inside an apartment building is not in itself a reason to reject it?
Reviewers don’t always understand the private property issue, because it isn’t explained well everywhere - you have to read the pop-up and most people don’t.
When something gets rejected for private property but is actually in an eligible location, you can resubmit or appeal. Alternatively, the rejection reason might be an easy choice for the reviewer to make because they wanted to reject it.
I would resubmit. Given the submission slots vs appeal slots, save the appeals for something that keeps getting rejected but you are convinced should be accepted.
These do not sound like junk submissions, so resubmissions are OK.
One bit of advice for these. Make absolute certain that your supporting photos show the object and the surroundings. I would include multiple supporting photos. But just make sure that the object can be seen in those supporting photos as well.
