I took a break from submitting for a year-ish. I just went through all of my random photos from the last year and created draft submissions for things that would make good Wayspots. However, I have almost 200 of these draft submissions that are outside the 10km submission range from my home. Very sad
Back in May we were told that increased submission range would be coming as a perk for higher Wayfinder ratings. Hopefully this happens soon. That is all, have a great day
Even a small increase would be useful. In my case for example, my job involves roaming all over my metro area. It would be much simpler if I could take pictures while I’m out and then submit either from my office or home, but in some cases I’m up to 35 km or so away from either of those locations… (and they are about 25 km apart).
A similar distance would seem useful for travellers / tourists to be able to submit from their hotel or similar.
I am not a big numbers guy so it isn’t really a problem for me but I can see for others that 10km could be restrictive. Stopping to do an occasional nomination is not a problem.
I assume Scopely Explore have their reasons, is it believed that people will see something on the map, want to submit but are unlikely to visit soon so try the 3rd Party Images route?
I have tried my 1st “Save as Draft” which I believe should be a decent compromise. Mine was definitely within the 10km so can’t vouch for that but I assume others have used it and could confirm the pros / cons of it better.
Drafts worked for me for submitting beyond the 10km limit. But they don’t currently allow for retroactively submitting these. I am not techy, but couldn’t the draft could “attest” from the photo’s location data? Or is that too easy to manipulate for cheaters?
I previously only submitted in ingress and didn’t realise just how much of a luxury the 25km radius was
The save as draft is not always the solution.
I was at a National Trust ( historic site ) property and the signal was dire. I briefly had enough signal at one location to get the game to load and spin a stop in this the current promotion. But attempts to launch web page was not successful.
I am also very used to the environment of submitting at home in relative comfort - not rain and winds or cold weather. My older body appreciates that much more.
I’ve not yet gone below 300 nominations available ( don’t think I’ve even come close)
So all of those are totally pointless - it’s not a “reward” if it hasn’t any value. I know it’s a huge value to some and I am not suggesting taking it away from them, but there is more than one variety of valued wayfinder
But allowing me submit in comfort….now there is a value in that to the Eli variety of wayfinders
Another aspect worth noting is that if you submit a nomination more than 10km away from your home and it gets rejected, there’s no way to resubmit it aside from burning an appeal.
And like Eli touched on, there are plenty of areas (especially in the western United States) where there’s no cell service at all within 10 kilometers, making it impossible to nominate in those places.
You can drop spare draft pins. I was travelling and added one draft pin at each location I intended to submit after a walk through and taking some photos, but then I left an additional 10 or so draft pins in that general location. They are all location verified, so if I need to resubmit something I will just use one of them.
Well i have things that i forget to submit when i was travelling. Its more than 1000km sadly. I dont even know how much wayfarer gonna increase submission range (hoping it will happen “soon” lol)
