It should be auto because every two spots the third should open a gym .. and ao on to 6 then more after that 10 I think then gym.. the rules are anyways but I don’t think they really catching up with world map .. because alot spots but if you tell them like I have area a to the moment that’s three stops .. lol I found out two then gym yet I only have three way spots meaning the third should be a. Gym but it’s not so IAM wondering why ? That the game is ignoring it’s own logic lol

Near here there is poke stop there are three for every 2 there should be third a gym .. I think if that’s right
My thoughts are that there is also not alot of places more to put anymore pokestops .. and issue is there is hardly any unique items I did find a wisteria plant trellis big one with bench and it’s unique in Denmark since it’s hardly seen for like 20 km or more in malling is nothing like it but in odder katrineholmsalle it’s unique it was declined and also the falshus .. but it’s used by dmx I think so
If anything we need more spots in this area and there are parks but no signs and the government here are not good at looking after places that council people live ..as in poor people but thing is it’s a community and it’s parks and play grounds and more

You have got a number of wayspots around the co ordinates given. However the gym determination rules are based on Level 14 cells - the bigger box in this picture. There are 2 gyms in this cell - the ones circled in red this is because there are 6 level 17 cells active. It is not about the number of wayspots but the number of active L17 and only 1 wayspot in an L 17 can become a stop or a gym.
So everything is working as it should.
You said you don’t have enough. There may be a few more things in the parks, but nearby there are a lot.
Well there is a lot in other countries and gyms on ai say the rules the link I don’t really understand since I have ADHD and I can not read much so it’s hard I have mental illness and other issues with walking so it’s hard to get to places that’s why thanks anyways hugs all as also it’s the bug with black screen and sometes white screen again it might be my phone it’s old . Dont worry it is quite complicated and although it sounds simple there is a lot to take in and understand if you are doing wayfarer with a specific outcome of wanting to see something in the game. Many of us have taken years to grasp ideas and made many mistakes.

It’s not every third stop like you said. It depends on the density in that area. For example, I know of a location where there are seven regular pokestops within reach. The nearest gym is 150 meters away.
And you can’t request a particular stop to become a gym; it’s selected via an automated process once the area hits a density threshold.
