Your nomination is next to a pedestrian crossing, but it doesn’t look like it’s intended for pedestrians to stay there to interact with it.
Even if it was to have safe pedestrian access though, translating the image suggests it’s just an advert for some sort of mobile phone app, and Street View shows other adverts on it in the past. Advertising boards like this aren’t really a great place to socialise, exercise or explore. So it likely wouldn’t be eligible even if the pedestrian access issue wasn’t there.
I’ve seen other signs like this serving as Pokéstops in other cities; plus, this sign doesn’t show ads, only local activities and news. You can even see a small space between the crosswalk and the sign where cars can’t go, so you can stand there and check the news. And he encourage exploitation
There is no standing space in this median. You are meant to cross at the crosswalk and move along. I agree with the appeals reviewer.
You can’t see it in this picture because I didn’t include it, but there’s the same thing on the other side without the sign which allows you to stop.
This is simply not a safe place to stand. You may be able to touch it in passing, but you cannot stand here and interact with a Wayspot here. If this is the correct location. Sometimes the Google Street addresses are a bit off.
Looking at historic street view there is a Truck Festival and something that costs 106 and requires reservations from the town hall.
Sounds like adverts to me…
Google Street View is not up to date; it no longer looks like that.
Food truck are free and sure, it’s not necessarily free, but they are still activities.
Remember that we are not staff, we are just advising from what we have learned, some from many years of wayfarer.
You have the following problems with this nomination…
1: Convincing staff that it has safe pedestrian access.
2: Evidence that this is not an advertising board.
3: Make a convincing argument that an advert saying “download our app” meets the criteria of encouraging socialising or exercising or exploring.
IMO: Walk away, spend you time / energy on finding something that meets criteria.
Good Luck
