Praça união - Vila Analândia (Inappropriate gym removal)

Wayspot Appeals
1

  • Wayspot Title: Praça união - Vila Analândia

  • Location (lat/lon): -23.533165, -46.911195

  • City: Jandira

  • Country: Brazil

  • Additional Information: This gym, which is a local landmark in the neighborhood, was removed. The park still here, as proven by the attached photos.
The Wayspot was located in a park on a roundabout with light vehicle traffic. It is a long-standing, well-known social gathering spot in this part of the city with plenty of local businesses, and it became the primary meeting place for the neighborhood Pokémon GO community because it offered a place to rest while interacting with Gyms. With the improper removal of this Gym, a PokéStop that lacks this basic infrastructure was converted into a Gym instead, discouraging the players who used to gather here to play.
I believe there was a fraudulent removal request, and I ask that you review and restore this gym.

Thanks cyndiepooh for the tips.

Welcome to the forum.

The coordinates you gave appear to be in a roundabout with no safe pedestrian access.

The fact that there are crosswalks at the streets entering the roundabout indicate that this is not safe to enter without them.

If you have evidence that this is intended to be accessed by pedestrians, you should provide or point that out for the team. Staff members who can decide this appeal will have names that begin with “ScopelyExp” - the rest of us are just trying to be helpful.

(Also, please note that due to inclusion and density rules, Praça união - Vila Analândia would not be eligible to return to the game as a gym or even as a Pokestop.)

Thanks for the appeal, @lisamona! We have taken another look but stand by our decision to retire this Wayspot.
