In this area there are 3 Waystops in game and as you can see they are all in a specific cell. However there are no gyms at all. i can send a photo from the in game perspective too if needed.
This is not the official map and needs people to add the wayspots so it is usually incorrect or out of date.
Could you supply the location and we can take a look at the official map. (long / lat works best).

You need 2 more wayspots in empty L17 cells (small cells) to get another Gym.

Standard Warning: This is not aimed at the OP or anyone in particular…
Do not use the knowledge of cells to mis-place nominations to try and get them in to the game. You are risking Warnings / Suspensions on both Wayfarer and GAME accounts.
Knowledge of cells should only be used so that you are pre-aware whether a nomination is likely to be a stop / gym or a powerspot.
It can also be used where certain points of interest have more than 1 legitimate location. Example: Sports Field. It is recommended to place at the edge but off the field of play. This could give an option of more than 1 cell.
Once a nomination has been accepted and the location is seen as Acceptable you should not attempt to move it for game purposes. This can also risk your accounts. Location edits should only be attempted when the current location is incorrect. Example: From the field of play to the side.
Ok thank you. Question: if i manage to add 2 more waystops so there will be 2 gyms will the last waystop created automatically become the new gym or it’s just random choice?
There is multiple opinions on this.
- Staff have said it is Random.
- In the past it was always the one with the most Photo Votes.
- I have witnessed some that don’t seem to follow the previous rule.
- Pokestops that are used for “Showcase Tuesdays” will not be promoted to a Gym.

Staff have also said in the past that it is abuse to try to manipulate which becomes the gym, but they haven’t repeated that statement - as far as I have seen anyway - on this forum. So just be aware of that.
