# Question about sync

Hey guys, just alittle confused, how can I tell when a sync happens? Is it at a fixed time?

And what exactly is the sync?

Sorry for the noob question, im still trying to learn ^^

Hi,

The information is sourced from community observations

Sync - Synchronising of the information in the Wafarer database with the games database.

When you get a wayspot approved it enters the Wayfarer database. At sync the information from that database that is eligible to appear in the game appears in game.  
There is a time prior to the appearance which is the cut off point for the data being used.

Sync normally appears to happen once a day at some point pbetween 18:00 -19:00 UTC

You can tell because you will see new pokestops or ones that have been removed will go.

Great point! Everyone ask anything to him. I need to say, it’s cool to wait the progress of a wayspot appear in the map.

All of this is from observation so the times are not exact.

The cut off time is very approximately 2 hours before sync so roughly  
16:00 UTC. Thus if you had one approved say at 12:00 there is a very good chance that it would appear at sync that day. Anything after cut-off will roll forward to the next sync eg 17:30 approval will probably sync about 25 hours later.

This is why the wording of the approval email says allow 48 hours.  
As with most things for unknown reasons sync may not happen on any given day.  
It is exciting waiting for a stop to appear and you get final confirmation that you have added to the game.
