Is there a way to have a sponsored stop or gym removed, when the sponsor is no longer in business at that location?
I’m asking because there’s a sponsored gym near my office; the area would be due for a community gym but the presence of this gym is blocking the quota. It’s representing a Verison store that closed several months ago.
There’s a similar situation in another neighborhood I’m familiar with about nine km away, as well.
You can share the details here on the forum or reach out to the team using the “Wayspot Removals” webform linked above, and we will see what we can do.
7035 Clairemont Mesa Boulevard, San Diego, CA, USA
(approximately 32.852551,-117.246084)
There was previously a Starbucks and a Verizon in side by side storefronts in this building, which is now completely vacant. The Starbucks closed sometime in 2025 (I believe relocated to 7415 on same street). The Verizon store closed January 23 2026 (there’s still a note on the door with that date, and a new address of 4195 Genesee Avenue.) Both of them still have sponsored stops in game (the Verizon’s is a gym).
As mentioned, I’m also looking into a third location but do not yet have the full data on it.
If it helps, I looked up the coordinates for the Genesee address, it’s approximately 32.852575,-117.246104
The other location: on map as “”BGR Resale” at 6460 Riverdale St, San Diego (approximately 32.852551,-117.246084 ). This business no longer exists at this address. Its location has been taken over by “Excel Together”, an adaptive sports / physical therapy program for handicapped children, and would thus fall under the K-12 rule. (It has been updated on Google Maps, but the street view images are from 2023 and still show BGR.)
I’m confused now, my bad. I need your help to simplify it for me. Could you please tell me again which Wayspot you are reporting and where it has moved now?
