Questions regarding Photo Voting

Hello,

I would like to ask about the practical operational boundaries for the “Photo Voting” feature on the Wayfarer Map.

Are we required to evaluate and choose the most appropriate photo among those that meet the criteria? If someone happens to vote for a photo that does not meet the criteria, will any actions or penalties be applied? Furthermore, with distance limits removed, it is now possible to organize votes via social media—whether asking others to vote for one’s own photo or campaigning to vote against specific photos as harassment. Are such external voting campaigns acceptable?

Is Photo Voting considered an official Wayfarer activity that must strictly follow the Criteria? Or is it intended to be a casual feature where users can freely pick any photo they like?
I would like to know the actual policy and enforcement rules rather than just the ideal concept.

Thank you

As there is 2 different processes this should not be a problem…

1: New photos will be processed and Accepted / Rejected to be added to the Wayspots pool of photos.

2: Photo votes are now only used to determine which will be shown in game.

As a photo should only be available for Photo Votes (2) once it has been accepted through the standard process (1) there should be no issues.

If a photo does slip through that doesn’t meet criteria it can be reported for removal.

I looked into how other exemplary Wayfarers handle this, and realized ‘no answer’ was the answer all along.
No need to overthink it!
