Hi everyone,
Today I received my first Wayfarer warning, and I’m trying to understand what might have caused it.
The Wayspot in question is “Mapa el Masnou”, located at 41.486388, 2.310401.
As far as I can tell, the Wayspot is correctly located. It is a real, permanent information map, and when checking the location on Google Maps/Street View, the physical object can clearly be seen at the submitted location. The pin also corresponds to the actual location of the map.
What makes this particularly confusing to me is that this nomination was previously rejected, but I appealed the rejection and Niantic subsequently accepted the nomination.
This is my first warning, so I’d really appreciate some opinions from experienced Wayfarers. Do you see anything wrong with the location or the Wayspot that could explain why it was reported as an abuse/violation?
I’m not trying to dispute the decision here; I’d simply like to understand what I may have done wrong before deciding whether I should appeal the warning. Reason is “Misplacement of wayspot submissions”

Hi, can you look for your submission confirmation email, whether you actually submitted this at these coordinates?
If the location was wrong and is now already corrected, then we can’t see how it looked like beforehand
yeah, it has the same cords. I don’t want to say it’s intended by some player, because I know someone with 5-6 accounts that doesn’t like me and always tries to reject my submissions, but I expect this to be an error
What exactly does the warning email say? Are you certain it was for this one?
Just to let you know all warning is handled by a staff.
I check the coordinate, and it seem like it is at the most accurate location?
Do you got two warning email, one is account status and one is submission concerning? It would look like this. If you do not get “account status” email, I reckon it give 0 point on abuse ladder.
Okay I didn’t know. I got 2, the first one was for this pokestop, saying it was reported by someone by the reason: “Policy Violated: Misplacement of wayspot submissions”. 3m later, I got another one saying:
" Hello Explorer,
Following an internal investigation performed by our team, we have confirmed that your recent behavior has violated one or more of our policies.
You have violated the following policies: Misplacement of wayspot submissions."
I assume it’s because this pokestop subsmission?
Check the submission warning email, it will say what nomination you violate, is it this said nomination?
Yeah I don’t know then, you need to wait for a staff to intitaed a DM to clarify then.
The coordinates I copied from your submission email screenshot are a little bit different from the live wayspot, but not by much.
Hopefully a staff member will start a DM with you and sort this out.
